Denon DRA-685 2 Channels Receiver

Pros: Quality build, perfect sound, MultiSource capable, two remote controls
Cons: Noisy sound from relay, cheap remote.

I am not sure how many people will look at this review, since everybody is going for HT(Home Theater), but I am going to write it anyway in case some people like me had the old fashion for two channel.

Pros: Good quality sound
Cons: Design mistake

Bought this unit about three years ago for my home. Works great when it works. One year in, I noticed that the sound out of one of the speakers started to sound scratchy. Called customer service and reset the unit by pressing the up and down buttons at the same time. The sound again was great until a few months later. Reset again. This kept happening every few months until last month, the reset would not work anymore. And now they want a minimum of $150 to repair the thing. A friend of mine has the same unit and the same thing happened to him a while ago. Something is wrong with these units, this should not be happening to units that are hardly used. (average of 30 to 60 minutes a day.) Anyway, be careful when buying this unit.

Wow - worked nicely for a few weeks. Then I had to re-hook it up to my system and something went wrong with the output to the speakers.

It's going back to Tweeter - which by the way is going down the tubes.
