Pros: Uses only one AA battery. Up to 40 hours of audio if using lower bitrate. Cons: Battery connection is weak.
I bought this unit not for its' snappy looks but for the fact that it can record. I take it with me to music shows and festivals. Also for listening to old time radio shows, audio books, and music at work. The player comes with 64 megs of ram in ...
Pros: Upgradable to 192mb! Only uses a single AA battery. No clunky control buttons. Cons: The included software takes some time to learn how to use...but its a blast afterwards.
I recently bought a Nomad IIc from the Creative Labs eBay store for about $30 (it was $34 including shipping charges). For that price this was an amazing buy...go to any computer or electronics store and an MP3 player with similar features costs at ...
Pros: NEVER skips, decent memory, backlit LCD, ID3 tags, voice recording, light weight Cons: No track order programming USB1.0 slow song transfers, poor software compatibility
The Nomad IIc is not the smallest nor is it the most memory bountiful mp3 player. It has its bugs, namely in the software area (PlayCenter 2 is strenuous to get functional on my old Win98SE computer). It's light but made of mainly plastic materials. This ...
Pros: expandable memory, small size, audio record function, only uses one AA battery Cons: not A LOT of memory
The main criteria I had when looking for an mp3 player was that it would last and it be expensive. Many of my friends had told me to get the Apple iPod, but after looking at its hefty price I decided not to. Minutes after buying the Nomad IIc mp3 ...
Pros: Easy to use. Reliable. Sturdy for active users. Display is easy to read. Cons: Smart media slot is located in an odd place.
I wanted a low cost mp3 player that I could use while running and working out on cardio equipment in the gym. The Nomad IIc exceeded my expectations. The interface is extremely intuitive, so much so that I have yet to read the user's manual. With ...
Intuitive Product but needs more features by viterbi ,Jun 16 '05
Pros: Plays WMA and MP3 files Cons: Does not work with 3rd party software.
This is my first mp3 player and I must say that I am generally impressed with the performance of this little device. Along with my FM transmitter, I have transformed my car radio into a MP3 JukeBox. This niffy device also plays WMA (Windows Media Audio - format used when ripping a retail CD to your hard disk in Windows Media Player). I wish this device was compatible with 3rd party software like iTunes so that I could easily drag and drop files into the player using software I already know but oh well...the Creative Media Center software is easy enough to learn and navigate.
Pros: Very nice human interface, good controls. Cons: Poor drivers (CRASHED BOTH MY PCs), proprietary SW to transfer files. Poor battery life.
If any mp3 device has any "easy-to-use" (read: proprietary) software to interface with the user - - RUN SCREAMING.
The drivers it came with are buggy and the "upgrade" drivers are worse; I can only add/delete one song at a time from internal memory before PlayCenter locks up by system (who says you can't crash XP??).
I bought 2 Nomad IIc's after doing my DD; one for my wife, one for my son. I installed PlayCenter on both my PCs and the above (one song at a time, then CRASH) happens with both Nomads.
Thank goodness that I we can d/l and delete files from the external memory or I'd have 2 paperweights.
Pros: Product may or may not be good but the company sure isn't a good company. Cons: Bad customer service.
I have two different Creative Labs product and both are NOT in working condition in less than a year of use. And trying to contact Creative to get some customer assistance has not been fruitful. Simply try to contact Creative and they'll response to you with either an automated reply or with silly personnels who knows nothing about customer service.
I wish someone had warn me about this company earlier. I'm in the market for a MP3 player and I'm definitely not buying any Creative products. I'll go for iRiver.
I love this little MP3 player. I searched around for one and got mine for $99, which I thought was a great deal. It is so light, sturdy, and has great sound quality. The only cons I find are the headphones that it comes with, I just don't like them very well (personal opinion) and the battery life ins't great...but it only needs one AA battery so it isn't really a problem. I would recomend it to anyone. It is so easy to download your songs to the player. It's just over all great!!

I bought a player that was $20 less at first. I wasn't happy with it at all. I slowed down a bit and read every MP3 article I could get my hands on before replacing it. I found the Nomad II had everything I wanted at a reasonable price.

The sound is incredible. At first I had no clue what I was looking for in an mp3. Then I did some research and no one had any thing bad to say about Nomad II, and it even had a spot that had room for a memory card which most in my price range didn’t. So I bought it and I have been satisfied with it since.
At the time of my purchase of Creative's MP3 player, I could have chosen it or the Nike. Guess I picked the wrong one. The belt clip is very flimsy and has resulted in the unit falling more than once. The sound has greatly deteriorated resulting in volume coming from the left headphone when the headphone is fully plugged in ( it only works if it is in half-way with subtle thumb pressure maintained on it). I originally bought it for long trips and for use with jogging. However, it just isn't build for this purpose. Overall, the unit is not up to the Creative Labs standards of quality.

Great sound quality. This product is a great product, for a low price. I did lots of research on Mp3 players in my price range. This had everything I wanted for an exceptional price. I do wish it had a radio. That is my only complaint. Other than that I love it. I also purchased a 64MB flash memory card increasing my storage capacity. I usually get about 30 songs on my total 128MB before it fills up. The great things about this device are it never skips, holds all my favorites, connects easily to my PC for easy music uploads and downloads. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a cool new way to enjoy there favorite audio. It is lots of fun and well worth the money.
