Pros: Powerful zoom, simple operations, affordable price, feature rich. Cons: Nothing Unusual to complain about as of yet.
Canon ES 8400V Hi8 Camcorder
I may be a bit behind the times when I admit that up until recently, I lugged around a giant, bulky, hard to use, jumpy, and prehistoric camcorder. Yes, it's true. I loved the old Canon...
Pros: Inexpensive, All the needed features, puts out a pretty good picture Cons: Short battery life, need to buy accessories
I have finally made the camcorder purchase! I've been waiting years but every time I looked, the prices were in the $1000 range which was much more than I could justify. My mother and dad.....who NEVER buy electronics purchased a video camera for their...
Pros: Easy to use and a clear picture. Cons: Blurs when recording Christmas lights.
I bought my Canon ES8400V after my son was born when the camcorder that I already owned a RCA quit holding a charge on it's battery it was a VHS shoulder held one also, So when I say the hand held Canon camcorder and for the price I thought it would be a...
Pros: Lots of effects, low price, more features. Cons: Had to return twice, built-in light not effective.
I bought this camcorder after doing extensive research on the web. I read the one and only review I could find for this camcorder at the time, and it seemed to boast on it. I had no idea that after the experience I had with it I was going to be...
Pros: Easy to use and clear instructions. All buttons were within reach. Cons: Worked for two days than quit!
I purchased this camera for two trips that I was taking and used it for about 1 hour to get familiar with it before the trip. Well as luck would have it , this camera died on the first shooting of the trip! It was not dropped or bumped it just quit! It...
Pros: Great features, easy to use, excellent recorded picture, plenty of zoom power. Good beginner camera. Cons: Night focus could be better, but still good. Initial battery pack could last longer.
The Canon ES8400V Hi8 w/LCD is a great camera. First and foremost it is a Canon, which means high quality craftsmanship by itself. It has 22X Optical and 800X Digital zoom power which is more than plenty. The picture quality does decrease some...
Pros: Easy access to Buttons, Easy to handle, good sharp picture, feature packed Cons: poor quality of built-in light, small LCD, b/w view-finder
I bought this camcorder after watching a commercial on TV in April 2002. My first experience was a good one. I had a new born baby and shooting indoors at home with the 2.5" LCD was very easy. I also quickly grasped all the features (except the Flexizone...
Pros: Good Quality and low price Cons: Hard-to-reach and hard-to-use zoom button
This camcorder is a perfect choice if you want decent quality at a low price during this period of rapid emerging digital technology. Rather than spending $1,000 to $2,000 on a digital camcorder that still records on video tape, consider purchasing a...
Excellent Basic Hi8 Camcorder by bruno1997 ,Jan 03 '05
Pros: Many Features -Compact design- Easy to use-Excellent video Cons: No remote- Photo feature is of limited use without computer video capture device.
It's small, easy to use, has more features than you're ever likely to use, and to my eye the video image on our 32 inch Toshiba TV is as good as our Sony Digital 8 camcorder (and will record for twice as long ------120 minutes vs. 60 minutes on a standard HI8/Digital 8 tape)
This is really a great... by camboy_dt3000 ,Jun 20 '02
This is really a great cam, nothing really close for the price. Zoom up to 800x, flexible focus/exposure is great. In a nutshell, it has practically every feature at a very reasonable price. Easy to pick up and use right out of the box, but enough features to keep you busy reading and experimenting for a long time. I'd have marked everything a 5, but picture quality isn't as good as digital, sound isn't like home theater and ease of use takes some reading to use it all. Battery charges quickly and blinking light tells how much charge, and it's not as delicate as nickel batteries. Great Canon optics and reputation for durability. Better warranty than some. Easy to use menu.
This camera has average video... by mobou_dt3000 ,Sep 14 '02
This camera has average video quality, it is similar to video tape recorded in EP mode. But still, who needs best quality for amateur films. Camera has only one flaw: when you zoom out and record at the same time, image gets blurry.
So you have to exclude "zoom out" from your movie's composition. Sound recording quality is great(clean and sounds are separated).
