Pros: Price and built in functions. Cons: Quick Load Thread Cassette.
I'm not married to Martha Stewart, but I could very well be. My wife is a domestic diva in her own right-a self-taught quilter who also sews home decor items that are constantly admired when guests visit our home. She has been valiantly sewing her ...
Pros: Easy set-up, easy to use. Great warranty (25 year). Cons: Would be nice to be able to use larger hoops.
I love my SE-270D! The cartridge is not hard to use once you do it a couple of times. It does not care a lot for the shiny threads (rayon)..but with a bit of "coaxing" (mumbling under the breath works)...it complies nicely. It does make you want a ...
Pros: Sews and embroidery in one machine, relatively inexpensive, and great customer service. Cons: You quickly become addicted and need more supplies for projects you can do.
The first one I purchased at Walmart I had only a couple months before it had problems. It would stop in the middle of the embroidery design, give me error messages, the LCD screen would stutter, turn blue or even go blank, and the machine would freeze ...
Pros: Smooth sewing, quiet and easy to use. Cons: This fun machine makes me want to spend more time than I have sewing!
This sewing machine is amazing -- so sturdy and quiet with all the modern features like automatic threading, up/down needle position button, drop-in bobbin, quick thread clip button, etc. (well, modern to me since I used an old Kenmore before getting ...
Pros: All the features. Low cost. Disney designs. Easy to use. Cons: The fact that I didn't buy it sooner!
I've had a basic Singer for the last 10+ years. Finally decided I wanted something more. I wanted some of the bells & whistles (up/down needle, self threading, self cutting thread) without paying thousands of dollars. I also was hoping for alphabet ...
Pros: It's cheap. Cons: low quality constant problems not worth the frustration
I purchased my first 270d online. I had it for about 3 weeks before I had to return it. Luckily it was within 30 days so I didnt have to pay for shipping. I pulled the replacement out of the box and it was already jammed in the needle down position ...
Pros: This would have been a wonderful machine, if and when it worked. Cons: Brother has wonderful products, this wasn't one of them.
It was. I have had nothing but problems with this machine. The first one would freeze up when I used stubby cone thread with the adapter. The thread wrapped around the spool holder which pulled the thread tight and cause me to pop needles left and ...
Pros: There is not one good thing I can say. Cons: Everything!!!!
I bought this machine and it worked fine. I decided to try to upload pes files I purchased from the internet, like the book and brother website says it can do. That was a big mistake. All it did was make massive balls of floss on the back of the material ...
highly recommended item!!!!! by neverpayretail ,Nov 08 '06
Pros: great price & awesome features! Cons: i wish i had more time to use it :(
i will keep this short & sweet. i got this machine because i wanted to start sewing all of the things i just knew i could make cheaper than i could purchase them for. spoiling my little girl is top priority!!! boutique style blankets & bibs & dresses...all out of the material i love, not the cheap tacky stuff sold in stores. i loved this enough that my best friend got the same model for her birthday and she is using hers like crazy! i love how easy it is to thread, program & sew anything. i was not willing to purchase a $4000.00 machine to hobby around with. so for me this is perfect!
Pros: Can't really think of any. Cons: It is a piece of junk!
I am currently on my second machine (I had to return the first one because the automatic threader quit after only 3 weeks). I have had more problems with this machine than I ever had with my $99 Singer. It seems to have a gremelin or something because it will be stitching fine for a while and then suddenly the under threads get all balled up. Sometimes the bobbin acts jerky and now the thread cutter isn't working. This machine is not used for heavy duty sewing and I have not even begun with the embroidery yet! Of course it is out of warranty now and I feel like I just threw away almost $400! I will never by BROTHER again!
Pros: Has all the basic functions the larger more costly machines have. Cons: No floppy disk drive & wished it had various size hoops like the larger machines.
I have had my machine for sometime now. I wouldn't trade it for anything! I also own a larger Brother machine ULT 2001. I bought this machine as a "extra" to take to embroidery classes and such. It hasn't let me down. It has all the features of my larger machine at such a great price. The only difference is the speed of embroidery and not having a larger hoop. I also purchased a seperate reader/writer box. This allows me to transfer my designs to a card and insert it in the side of the machine so I can use any design I have. I love the cartridge system. It took a bit to get used to it but now I love it better than the needle threader my large machine has. I've owned 4 other embroidery machines in the past and this little machine is so nice and well worth the money. In fact if it was on the market before my ULT2001, it may well be my only machine.

this sewing machine is good in all kinds of sowing u wan't all u need to do is to look for it i mean purchase it u realy need it,it can not disapiont u ok.
Pros: cheap price??? Cons: I had my machine for 6 months then the machine locked up.
It's the truth, It is a great fun item when it works!
You must use only one size thread to get the auto-threader to work, and it jams up!
I had my machine for 6 months then the machine locked up. Took it in to get repaired and the part was on backorder - for over 2 months. Finally after many many hrs of calls I was given a new motor head to replace basicly the whole machine. Now 6 months later the machine is out of warranty, replacement is out of the 90 day waranty and I am out a 1 1/2 yr old machine.
Very disapointing!
this is really good for beginers. by lalagirl896 ,Mar 18 '07
