I had bought two of these, the first one the battery would not go on the back which is hard to do anyway since the instructions were not clear. second after I had used it for about an hour the dvd got stuck and it would not play anymore.. my second one...

I was given this DVD player as a present at Christmas. I had to return the first one in Feb. 03 to Circuit City, I would put the DVD in and close it but it would not play and said it was still open. When Circuit City sent it back to be repaired (7 days)...

I obtained the fist one as a gift. Towards the end of the DVD it began to jitter and drag. Took it back and the new one did the same. Must use the headphones for good sound. Took the second back and bought a Compaq Notebook with DVD function. It works great. I would recommend doing the same !!!

I have a Compaq laptop, but unfortunately for me it does not play DVDs'. After being told that it would be a real pain to install a DVD on my laptop, and that the best thing for me to do would be to just scrap it and buy a new laptop, I decided that there just had to be cheaper way to play DVDs' on the go. Then, one day while shopping at the post excange, I decided to look at portables. The prices on most of the models were only a few hundred dollars shy of the price of a laptop. Just as I was about to give up, I saw the Apex PD-100. When I saw the price, and the features it was a done deal. I am very pleased with this product, and highly recommend it to anyone looking for reasonably priced on the go DVD capability.

I bought this for me and the wife for our camper when it rains and are stuck inside. I bought from (etronics.com), over the internet Sony SRS-T77 Personal Travel Speakers w/4watt output and powered by AA batteries for 59.50 plus shipping, they plug into the headphones plug. You get full sound stereo equal to your big TV sound. As for the remote being good for only a short distance, your are not going to watch it from across the room anyway.

Great unit for the price. People want a unit that the remote can be used from across the room. It's a portable. Great for on the go! Great for the kids to keep busy in the car. Kids figured out how to use it immediately.

purchased this item for myself. I returned it the next day. Sound quality is terrible, remote doesn't work more then 3 feet away. Unit is extremely heavy for it's size with battery attached. All in all, poor quality for the money

Shopped around.I bought this unit for my 4 year old grandson so he would contain himself in a flight to Flordia. This unit has to be the best deal in any marketplace. The DVD's look good, sound good, come on, it's a DVD. I would recommend this unit to anyone. When you get much higher in pricing, you might as well buy a laptop.
