Pros: Very precise bass reproduction. Cons: A rather deep mounting depth.
I had not originally intended on purchasing the Alpine Type R. My intention was to buy an Audiobahn, but I waited too long, and they went up in price, rather significantly. I'd heard good things about Alpine, and settled for the Type R. Boy, if this is...
Pros: It doesnt get sloppy when you have fast music playing Cons: it doesnt put out a whole lot of bass. They are very expensive too
This sub is definately not worth the money, but they look real nice. I would recommend it if you have a real nice alpine amplifier. You have to be pushing at least 200 watts each per sub to get it to bump nicely. If you have the money to buy a high...
Pros: Can handle more then the rated 300watts. Cons: None.
I've owned 2-12"rockford fosgates he2 and 1- kicker comp vr in the past. Personally i think this sub hits harder then the fosgate he2 and hits the same as the comp vr. But other people have the own opinions. It handles everything i thorw at them. Right now I got it in a really big box, about 2 cubic ft. yea thats huge. I plan on putting it in a smaller 1.25 cubic ft. box. I personally like my bass tight not loose.
Pros: Awesome Sub, would have to get subs that cost $300 to even compare Cons: .............hm when i find any i'll post it.
Got one of these hooked up to an MTX Thunder 502 amp.....all i can say is WHOA!! Great bass, blows my old Sony Xplod 12" out the water, and about the same as my 05 kicker cvr 12". Definately worth the few bucks i spent for it on ebay.

Alpine, in my opinion, made a real statement with this subwoofer. It sounds and runs excellent. I am very impressed with Alpine, and will buy their products in the future.

These subs are awsome. I'm running two of them off a 1000 watt amp and I blew the back window out of my T.A. I'v lost count of how many car alarms I'v set off from a block away. Not a speaker you want if you dont enjoy tightening every bolt on your car on a regular basis.

I own three 1241d type R subs.I am using the pioneer's prs-x720 on each of the subs ,in a 2ohm load an they handle the power great!!They truly are sick subs!!!Would recommend to anyone who wants to hear great bass from a small enclosure.
i have two 12s and they hit crazy they handle way more power then alpine say at first i kept blowing them wit a rockford 700s. because they weren't getting enough power but once i fed them the power they needed know they want more and more.
First heard of this sub... by millo_dt3000 ,Jun 18 '02
First heard of this sub from a mate and i have never looked back! First was running it off a cheap sony explod amp (about 150wats max)and it heaved! The bass it produced was like nothing i had heard before for the price! Next decided to get a Rockford power 550amp(550 watts RMS) and it now just sounds too sick. Get too many mates in the back that just cant take it and want to get out! Have to get another one but i dont think the car can take much more vibrating! Hardly ever distorts even when pushed hard. Blew away a friends Rockford 15' and blows away most competition subs! Set off car alarms too mant times to mention!
Highly reccommended, dont miss out!
