by surferdude7 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 10, May 06 '01
Pros: Works great and is easy to use.
Cons: May not copy most DVDs to a VHS tape.
Now you can watch your DVD movie and record a TV show at the same time.

This is combination package will set you back $379 to $499 depending on where you purchase one. One bright side of it is you only have one unit and not two. It is a...

We'll Never Leave the House Again

by shortstack27 , Aug 23 '01
Pros: Superior quality, cost- and space-effective all-in-one machine.
Cons: It won't do the dishes.
Please Note: This review is of the GoVideo DVR4000 model, not the 5000. I apologise for misplacing it, but I don't know how to move it now.

DVR5000 - Great invention

by busy91 , Apr 03 '01
Pros: Opens up choices. Great Quality.
Cons: A tad bigger than regular VCR/DVD players.
I am happy I purchased the DVR5000, it was one of the best investments I have ever made. I had to shop around some before I found this particular item, and was taken aback by the price tag of $499.00. If you can find this item elsewhere perhaps through...

This should be in the DVD section

by senrik , Jun 03 '01
Pros: Pretty good quality, Hidden features
Cons: all the pesky cables, price, no information about it aside from the manufacturer.
Before I begin: If you are looking to have a single device to copy directly from copyrighted DVD to VHS, look elsewhere.

My wife and I were VCR shopping and came across this gem. My wife really wanted a VCR. She has simple tastes when it comes...

So Nice, I Bought It Twice!

by astronerdboy , Feb 21 '02
Pros: A very good DVD player and VCR all in one space-saving package!
Cons: Ejecting a DVD while watching TV sends the unit to DVD mode (blue screen).
When I was first looking for DVD players, I'd planned to go for JVC. But I didn't have room for both a VCR and a DVD unit. I searched the web and came across the only company doing a combo unit -- GoVideo. It took a couple of months before I broke...

Everything you need

by toluan , Oct 04 '06
Pros: Has both DVD and VCR
Cons: Doen't work w/universal remote. DVD is extremely slow to start up.
Go-Video makes very nice VCRs. DVD is a new area for them... My wife got this for me after I have whine and cry for a new DVD player over 2-3 months. I was immediate impress w/the product that has built-in VCR, easy instructions, clear...

Wait until the price drops, this is a great product

by Kerry5858 , Apr 02 '01
Pros: A one-of-a-kind product on a very hot market.
Cons: Price.
I really enjoy my DVR5000. It was an expensive investment but I shopped around and finally found one in my price range. My best recommendation for those that are serious in purchasing one is to trying bidding in an online auction. DVRs in stores retail...

Great product

by etame , Jul 26 '01
Pros: Easy copying, easy videoing.
Cons: none
It is great to copy tapes, and to edit and copy different scenes into another tape. It is also great for all of those who like to tape and watch later avoiding the commercials. You can program up to 16 different events, and in case of light failure the...

Halfway Satisfied

by tharpe , Dec 21 '01
Pros: Excellent VCR. DTS decoder provides great sound.
Cons: Poor quality. Customer service at GoVideo is not very responsive.
I was somewhat disappointed in this product. The VCR portion is consistent with typical GoVideo excellence and quality. I have no complaints in that area.
The DVD, however, is a thorn in my side. It worked great for about 3 months, and by 6...

Go Video should have stuck...
by britt_dt3000 ,Jun 01 '02
Go Video should have stuck to VHS. DVD is pathetic. Returned first unit, second is not much better. Skips and stops play on about 70% DVD's. Don't even think about renting dvd's with this product. Cleaning disks does not help. Minor scratches will ruin your evenings.
