The Bottom Line: All in all I would recommend Taco Tico if you're tired of American taco places.

I was introduced to Taco Tico as a child because my parents enjoyed fast food and my mother tired of Hamburgers and chicken which seemed to be my father's favorite. here he could have a taco Burger and my mother could have what she enjoyed at a reasonable price. Today much hasn't changed with taco Tico including their prices. Their service is excellent and if you go through the drive through of the one in Independence KS you're in for a special treat. Upon ordering there on a month home vacation we discovered not only their fast friendly service but a radio Disc Jockey in the making as well who enjoyed expressing his talents on speaker giving Taco Tico and unique twist and this friendly worker a chance to express his own self. Their food is also great. They have a wide variety of tacos, enchiladas, tamales, salads and burgers and sauces from mild to extra spicy to go with them. Drinks include sodas, milks and teas. When you order a combo you don't get the usual sandwich with fries type thing like other taco places try to give you. You get a taco, enchilada in sauce, rice and refried beans all on a plate! There are several combos to choose from as well. The atmosphere is great as well with cleanliness a plus and is a smoke free place. And The prices are very reasonable. For a family of 4 we spend under $20. I've been to other so called taco places since then simply because there are no taco tico's available on the east coast and let me tell you they do not compare anywhere! other taco places here are more American than anything giving you that ok it's a taco but where is he authenticness in it or the other foods.Also there are no combos or refried beans and their rice is nothing but rice and tomato sauce with cheese dumped on it! No just not the same. And Prices are much higher as well. Here we spend for a family of 4 almost $30! And it's suppose to be fast food! On the downside as most fast food places tend to do Taco Tico has been known to ignore and order almost causing a life death situation. Although this was years ago my husband and I went to Taco Tico with a friend for lunch. The friend was Allergic to Tomatoes. Enough of a reaction to cause him death. He explained this to the taco tico employees and asked for not tomatoes on his tacos. They said no problem and looked very concerned. of course when he got his order he was willing to trust them and took a bite of his taco to find non other than tomatoes on his taco. Luckily he didn't swallow them and Taco Tico replaced his order and apologized quickly after of course he went inside an gave them a good mouthful. This though is the only serious incident I've known of and haven't heard of anymore since then.
