I have always held Uniden phones in high regard, and this model is no exception. The sound is perfect, the phone is well-built, and the battery life is much better than expected.
I had a 2.4 GHz set before this one, but couldn't make it work with my 802.11b network (same frequency). I tried this one out and it hasn't had one hiccup with the wireless network.
I have the base handset/answering machine and 2 extra handsets (for den and upstairs office). I enjoy the conference mode (actually, my wife enjoys it more - easy to keep track of me!).
The answering machine is quite clear and does a great job of managing my messages. You don't get a long speech telling you who/what/when/where before each message (just the date) and you can delete while a message is playing. Also, the handsets can check the base answering machine and delete as well - nice bonus feature.
Other great aspects of the phone that I enjoy are as follows:
- you can assign different ringtones to different callers
- nice amber lighting is easy to read
- I can keep a handset of a base for 2 or more days
