Pros: Very smooth deck. Plays multiple formats well. Very complete for the price.
Cons: Shorter animations, limited music-response animations.
The Bottom Line: You'll get bang for your buck with this unit. I recommend it. The steering wheel remote is handy, and you'll pack a lot of music on your CDs.

| josheya's Full Review: Pioneer DEH-P760MP Car CD/ MP3 Player |
I sold my DEH 7300 and replaced it with this model (at $220). It has some definite improvements - smoother animations; MP3, WMA and WAV playback; steering wheel remote (it's strapped to my steering wheel so I don't lose it like I lost my other remote!); scrolling text; a little better visibility and color scheme than the 7300, additional sound enhancements (BMX and COMP - see Pioneer's web site - "http://www.pioneerelectronics.com" - for more details).
It handles MP3s, WMAs and WAVs well. I have a portable MP3 CD player and I hear an odd echo and "compressed music sound." It's obvious I'm hearing MP3s. However, with the same MP3 CD on the 760MP i hear no strange echo or compressed noise. Needless to say I was very impressed. Surprising full sound for MP3s at a mere 128kbs bit rate. With WMA files you can slam even more high quality compressed audio on a CD, and this unit will play all formats, organized neatly in the alphabetical folder order you burn the CD with. It switches between formats seamlessly, and the remote is very nice. The power output is impressive, without an amp. Can punch my 6x9s well. I even hooked up a 12 inch amp bridged (Disclaimer: I don't know if you're supposed to bridge it, but I like to see what things are capable of, so don't fry your deck and blame me) to my normal rear speaker outputs - with the rear outputs set to the convenient sub. mode and it actually punched it, not like a separate amp would, but you have that option. A couple 8 in. subs would sound nice if you're on a tight budget and want better bass than 6x9s.
Setbacks? Minor details as they do not affect sound quality. The animations are shorter, a paltry 10 seconds compared to 15 second animations on the DEH 7300, and only two animations that respond to the audio instead of three (I add the fact they left out my favorite!)
