Before I had my baby girl I did what I imagine all moms do. The moment I found out I was pregnant I start planning my registry. It wasnt until 6 or so months into the pregnancy I found the stroller and car seat combo I wanted.
I chose to buy a travel set that could interchange together for my mere convenience. I chose the Graco LiteRider because I wanted a stroller that wasnt bulky or huge and I wanted a car seat that was easily to get in and out of the car. I had big plans for it to be used at the zoo, the park, long walks in our neighborhood, etc. So far its mostly just used for weaving in and out of shopping store isles.
The Stroller
I really love this stroller. It maneuvers so well even in small scrapbooking stores. All sides have double wheels and turn 360. This makes entering front ways into an elevator and then turning with other people still in the cramped spaced with you a breeze.
I am not exactly a pro at putting things together but the directions were a breeze (unlike her highchair I gave up on and convinced the more patient grandma to do.) It took me 15 to 20 minutes to get everything together.
The car seat fits in perfectly and easily just set it in and listen for it to click and you know its secure. It releases just as fast by pulling a lever on the car seat and pulling it off. The shade canopy on the stroller and on the car seat can both be pulled up so that they come together and allow baby to sleep better when out and about in the daytime or when its just really bright. The stroller canopy also has a plastic window so you can still see baby when its open.
The seat reclines so when your child is big enough not to need the car seat in it she or he can also relax or have it up all the way so your child can sit up and see whats about. It has a 3 point harness when using the stroller alone. An adjustable foot step for your toddlers feet and a tray for snacks. There is also a tray with a cup holder at the top for mom or dad. Underneath is a small but deep basket to hold purses, small diaper bags, shopping bags etc.
My favorite part of the stroller is how easy it is to retract and how compact it gets for easy placing in the truck. The handle has a small red button that you slide with you thumb and pushdown on the stroller. The entire thing folds up and is ready to be put wherever. To put back in use just grab the handle and lift the entire stroller and it comes together on its own. It clicks to let you know its locked in place.
It weighs just over 20 lbs and is meant for children up to 40 pounds.
The Car Seat
I love how easy it is to install and remove the lightwieght car seat into the car or stroller. The travel system comes with a base to put in your car. The base installs by taking the seat belt and putting it through the hole on one side easily weaving it in and out of the middle of base and then placing it through the hole on the other side. Then it just clicks into your seatbelt fastener as normal. The car seat is then placed into the base. It clicks to know its secure. Thats it. To remove you pull on the lever in the back of the car seat and just lift out. This is a rear facing car seat
The car seat is the popular Snug Ride has a 5 point harness and it is simple to adjust for babys size. There are also 2 different shoulder strap levels so it grows with your baby up to when baby reaches 20 lbs. There is a level indicator on the side of the seat so you always know it is installed at the right angle in the base.
All pieces are easy to clean with a wet washcloth or removable and stick in washer under cold wash. Frame can be cleaned with mild soap and water.
Like everything I buy for Ally this also came from Target It was $99.99 for the set Our model came in blue and black but there are newer Lite Rider systems that come in other colors
