Don't fall for the previews: this is not a movie about sports betting. This movie certainly does use what you see in the previews to provide a framework.
But this movie has a real story behind it. To be honest, the second story - the one you don't see in the previews - is good enough to make this a date movie.
So how do you get your date to check out this not-so-obvious date movie? Well, first, it's starring Matthew McConaughey, who in the movie is a weight-lifting fanatic and he shows his muscular body. Telling your date that should help it out. Secondly, it stars the amazing Al Pacino. His character in this movie is complex and interesting.
I wouldn't want to ruin a movie so all I can say is that this is worth your time. The underlying story was a nice surprise as I was expecting the sports betting movie.
