The Bottom Line: A must for DC Talk fans. A good introductory album for newbies. Less hard-hitting than Jesus Freak but more upbeat than their earlier albums.
Greetings:
This DC Talk album is a great addition to Christian music! Consider adding this album to your collection. It has a lot more rap than their previous albums and is, in my opinion, not as 'hard' as their later albums. For instance, the Jesus Freak album can be a bit on the hard-hitting side. Depending on your personal tastes, it may be too hard for you. I think most folks will enjoy this Free At Last album.
There are lot of upbeat songs on Free at Last that have great, moral messages. I'll mention a few below.
That Kinda Girl points out that some girls aren't after a Christian relationship with a man. But God calls us men to that and to a certain kind of girl. A girl that loves and serves God. This song includes scripture references to the book of Proverbs!
Say the Words calls us to express our Christian compassion for the world! What secular albums even suggest that? Let this song spur you into action!
For you Club Noveau fans, DC Talk has a great version of Lean on Me with some extra rap sequences tossed in. Very well done! Upbeat and will get your foot stomping right away!
Time is ... song highlights our mission on earth to share the good news of Christ! It is a upbeat rap song that communicates the urgency of this task! It reminds us that "Time is slipping away." Excellent message, excellent encouragement!
This threesome is definitely talented as they contributed both in song composition and production! May God continue to bless their efforts and touch many for Jesus. Let's pray for open hearts as people listen to this album.
