madisonmike's Full Review: Exit Elvis by Tribe Of Judah (Rock)
Gary Cherone is a well known vocalist being in Extreme and Van Halen!......But Tribe Of Judah is a very different direction than his previous bands , Tribe Of Judah blends the sounds of Extreme and Van Halen into an industrial type of setting , And the results are brilliant.....The album kicks off with "Left For Dead" a definite high energy rocker........I could sit here and explain each song individually but It wouldn't do any justice to how good these songs are , The guitaring from Leo Mellace is excellent , He actually plays guitar solo's within an industrial type of setting ,and he plays with style........Also you've got Pat Badger (x-Extreme) on bass one of the best bass players around , He's very underated!.........And then you've got the amazing voice of Gary Cherone , If you never really listened to Extreme or him in Van Halen , I advise you to go out and buy all the Extreme albums , The Van Halen thing didn't do him justice.........I think Eddie's rehashed guitaring and poor lyrics left Gary's stint in V.H. less than expected.......Tribe Of Judah with the right publication could actually have mainstream success , And I hope it does it's a very well written album , The lyrics are amaizing ,They are blunt yet very deep........The only knock on this album is that they left off "Need I Say More" an acoustic ballad.....It's an awesome song!........The best rocker on the album is "In My Dreams" it has a steady techno type drum beat with an 80's guitar driven type of feel!..........Then you've got the title song "Exit Elvis" that is a very different type of song it goes through alot of different changes with violins and awesome lady backing vocals from "Bree Greig"......A very artsy song.....The first line of the song explains it all "Art is dead , Mourn the masterpiece......Rendering in irrelevance , Heavy hands held in high regard"..........Gary's new outing is a masterpiece!
