DC Talk's second album is a little more rock and soul than their first, but they still haven't reached the rock/alternative stage that we find them in Jesus Freak and Supernatural, two of their more current albums.
Although this is more rap than anything else, the messages in their songs are clear and presented well. DC Talk doesn't skirt the important issues but tackle them first on.
They cover a wide variety of topics, ranging from their defense of rap in "I Luv Rap Music" to the need for a more contemporary type of church when they claim that God is doing a "Nu Thang".
Racism is the target of "Walls", stating the need for the removal of the walls surrounding people because of race. "Children Can Live (Without It)" brings soul into the album when confronting the tough issue of child abuse. "Can I Get Witness" brings to light the urgent need for Christians to stand up.
Whatever style of music they are using to reach people, DC Talk can be counted on to bring out tough issues, have some fun songs and always present good, strong messages with their musical talent.
