Pros: Looks nice
Cons: Service Alert! Magnatron caught on fire and burned microwave. Replacement microwave did the same.
The Bottom Line: If you buy this unit be prepared to become very familiar with repairmen.

I purchased this model in Sept. 1999 and in just over 2 years the magnatron (major part) burned up. The Sears repairman said there was an "service alert" on on this model for that very problem. The unit was not repairable and GE said they would replace it. It was a major hassle to get them to deliver and install it, but after a month I got a new unit. I hadn't had the new unit (manufactured in Jan. 2002) 2 months when it started making a terrible noise. The GE Tech came out and said the magnatron and transformer were bad. Unfortunately, he could not uninstall my unit to repair it because the GE installers had stripped some screws. I now am waiting to see how GE will uninstall it (either by calling out a contractor or having the original installers come out). Also the unit may have to be replaced because the screw hole in the unit might be damaged. GE Consumer Support is not very supportive or efficient and the phone hold times are way too long.
