Quicken Turbo Tax for the Web
So, did you make it in time? Did you file an extension? Hopefully everyone that’s reading this has their taxes done and possibly has their refund in hand. I file my taxes a few months ago, and our refund is long gone! I used Quicken Turbo Tax Online to file my taxes for a quicker refund and less hassle. In this review I’ll explain to you why I recommend this site. When you are done reading and rating this review make sure to check out the other participants in this write off! Starting Out
When you go to the Quicken Turbo Tax website you will find all kinds of information on their main page. To get started, just click on “Start a New Return”. Here is where you will begin the entire process. Look around and check through all of their policies just to get a feel of the site. I was able to find what I needed and get started in about 10 to 15 minutes. If you know someone who has used this site, ask them to help because it will just make it that much easier.
Price
I paid zero dollars to file my taxes. I qualified for the Quicken Tax Freedom and was able to file with Turbo Tax EZ for free. You need to take a small ‘quiz’ to see if you are eligible for a free filing, otherwise you will have to pay a small fee.
The prices are as follows:
TurboTax Premium (1040): Federal- $39.95 State-$12.95
TurboTax (1040): Federal-$29.95 State-$12.95
TurboTax EZ (1040EZ): Federal-$12.95 State-$4.95
Depending on your needs and the guidelines that Quicken TurboTax has laid out, you will decide on what process will work best for you.
Information/Site Performance
I didn’t experience any page time-outs while searching for help or filing. If your Internet connection gets cut off or you try to leave the site, they will save all of your information. All you have to do is go back to the website and continue filing. Their site is filled with extensive information and you should be able to find answers for all of your ‘basic’ tax questions.
Time Length
Since I filed my taxes early and didn’t have to file for state (my home of record is South Dakota) I didn’t have to wait for very long. I had the refund automatically deposited into our bank account and I think it was total of 14-16 days. They say it will take approximately 2 to 3 weeks. After you file your return you will have to wait 36 hours I think it is, and then check back to see if your return was accepted. If not, that can slow the entire process down. I’ve never had a return rejected so I won’t go into that.
Is It Here Yet?
Being able to check the status of your return online is a great asset to me. Not having to call that annoying IRS 1-800 number and get lost in the options is a blessing! You can easily check your status by just logging into the Quicken site, entering your username and password, and clicking on “Check My Status.”
Final Thoughts
I always hear about people dreading tax day. I guess since I’ve always gotten a refund and have been able to file with a 1040EZ I don’t mind this time of year at all. I’ve filed both electronically and by snail mail. I can say, without a doubt, that I love filing electronically. TurboxTax online makes it extremely easy to get help while filing, get your refund fast and check the status of your filing. This site is very extensive and I know I’ve only touched base on a few things mainly because I’ve only used it for 2 years and I filed with the 1040 EZ.
