The Bottom Line: If you want Kool-Aid with a grape twist go for it. If you want a decent tasting White Zinfandel without all the added sugar STAY AWAY from this!
duchessnicole's Full Review: Arbor Mist Strawberry White Zinfandel
Okay, I am not a wine pro, actually I am far from it, but I do have an opinion about this wine. It is terrible. What is so bad about it you may ask? Well, plain and simple, it is way too sweet for my palate. I mean don't get me wrong, I LOVE sweet things. I have the biggest sweet tooth this side of the Mississippi, but Arbor Mist really gives sweet wines a bad name!
From my small experience with wines, I usually go for the natural sweetness that the grapes have given off compared to the man-made sweetners that are poured into a bottle of wine such as Arbor Mist.
I know what most of you may be thinking..."You get what you pay for so stop complaining!" Well you may be correct in that line of thought, though my comeback will be to you, "Boones tastes better than this crap and it is cheaper!" So there. *giggle*
No, really. Arbor Mist White Zinfandel tastes okay, not the worst, but their Strawberry Zinfandel is gross. It may be the fruit taste that ruins it for me, but either way, they used way too much sweetner in it and it completely messed up the taste of real wine. Besides, it didn't even resemble a strawberry taste!! If I didn't read the bottle, I would have had NO idea what I was drinking.
Think strawberry Kool-Aid with some major alchol-grape mixture then you will be on the right track with this taste description. A great drink for those who love overly sweet drinks...most of those folks also like to gobble down pixie sticks like they are going out of style! But I warn you, if you have a few bucks to spend on wines I would at least stay away from the fruit enhanced wines and stick to the classics.
