I've only been on the "PDA bandwagon" for about 5 months now, and may I say that I don't know how I lived without it (I'm ashamed to admit)! I consolidated 3 different Address books when I got my PALM! I am not a salesperson or someone that needs to keep track of alot of appointments/meetings, etc, but I use my Palm Vx at least 10 TIMES A DAY! The AddressBook feature lets you store a phenomenal amount of information for each entry. Aside from the standard Name, Phone and Address, you have space for cell phone #'s, pager #'s, email addresses, birthdays/anniversaries and even a free-form "notes" feature. I use the AddressBook to keep track of all my online Member Name & Passwords. I bought "encryption" software ( for under $20) that allows me to encrypt any data I choose, so I encrypt all my passwords so that even if my Palm gets lost/broken into, I'm still the only one who can DEcrypt the passwords. AND you have a back up on your PC.
The Palm Vx comes with several games which I use EVERY time I find myself in a "waiting" situation : @ the doctors office, @ the airport, etc... There's a TO DO list, a MEMO list, a place to list EXPENSES. You can write and receive email too! I bought POCKET QUICKEN which is the Palm version of your desktop QUICKEN, and I use IT nearly everyday too! (When you do a HOTSYNC, your Quicken entries are downloaded to you desktop Quicken. I LOVE IT!)
I also use my Palm as a diary! On any day that something happens which I want to remember I simply "put it in the Palm"!
I love how you can set audible ALARMS for your important dates and appointments. Not only birthdays and anniversaries, but for example, if you want to remember to pick up milk on your way home from work you simply make an entry "PICKUP MILK", and set the alarm for when you are leaving work!
In my opinion, EVERYONE would benefit from having a PALM !
My only complaint is that I swear I'm getting DUMBER each day I use my PALM because I no longer have to remember ANYTHING with all with those 'alarmable options' ! =D
