If you were to ask any Buffalo Bills fan to name some past players who made a big difference to the team, Jim Kelly would surely be one of the players mentioned. In fact, while Buffalo never won any of the Super Bowls that they played in, they never would have got there without Jim Kelly and his famous no huddle K-Gun offense. Unfortunately for us die hard loyal fans, the Bills have not been the same since Jim Kelly retired. True, Doug Flutie offered us some very exciting games and got us to the playoffs, but a Super Bowl berth was always just out of reach. Rob Johnson.....well, we don't need to discuss him and his penchant for eating turf on a regular basis, now do we? Then comes Drew Bledsoe, which made hope ripple through all of us fans that perhaps we might once again reign supreme in the AFC division but so far, that dream has too fallen short.
What made Jim Kelly so successful as a quarterback that no other has been able to fill his shoes? Was it having the guidance of Marv Levy? Was it having Andre Reed and Thurman Thomas at his side? Or was it the fact that the whole offense knew each other's body language so well that a huddle wasn't even necessary between plays? One thing I can tell you is that it was a magical time for us fans and we followed each game closely and we felt each Super Bowl loss almost as deeply as the team did.
If you can't tell by now, my husband and I are both huge fans of the Buffalo Bills and my husband has an extensive collection of items. Bobble heads, programs guides from games going all the way back to the 60's, jerseys, and of course, trading cards. He has a whole binder devoted to just quarterback cards including the Topps Buffalo Bills Jim Kelly 1987 Rookie Trading Card.

Protecting your Topps Buffalo Bills Jim Kelly 1987 Rookie Trading Card
There are several things that you can do to protect your Topps Buffalo Bills Jim Kelly 1987 Rookie Trading Card, or any kind of trading card for that matter. This is what my husband does and it's a simple yet effective system that has worked for him so far. First of all, when he gets a card that he knows he's going to keep, he immediately puts it in a clear plastic sleeve. This allows him to handle it all he wants without getting the oils from his hands on it. He then puts each sleeved card into a 9 pocket protective sheet. These sheets come with holes punched out of them so that he can put them into binders, which he has organized by team and also by position. Another thing he does is to store the binders in the top shelf of our bedroom closet. This keeps the cards away from sunlight, which prevents fading, plus it keeps them safe from spilled drinks which might be brought into the bedroom. I know that I've knocked over a drink that I've had on the dresser or nightstand and have ruined anything that was near it (usually a book). This way he knows they're safe yet he has easy access to them when he wants to look through them.
