Thanks to a few very generous family members I had quite a large sum of cash in December that I could spend as I pleased for my birthday. Regular readers of mine may be shocked that I did not go out and spend it all on lip products… in fact; Too Faced Bunny Balm was the only lip product I purchased. Amazing…
I had been curious to try out this darling lip balm from Too Faced ever since I saw it available online. Too Faced Bunny Balm is a tinted, glossy lip balm which comes in a metal pale pink tin. The tin is insanely girlie looking with a darker pink target type deal and a bunny in the middle. Not a bunny rabbit… no, this bunny is more along the lines of one Hugh Hefner keeps around – in fact the full product name is Too Faced Bunny Balm Seductive Lip Balm. Um, yeah. The tin holds 0.42 oz. and is available in four scents/colors. I paid $11 for my tin.
I chose to buy Too Faced Bunny Balm in the pear scent/shade. It’s supposed to be the color of honey and in the tin it is however on my pigmented lips it’s completely clear. It does add some shine and feels really nice. I have taken to using this product almost exclusively as my lip balm over the last month because my lips have been so dry with the winter weather. Too Faced Bunny Balm seems to hydrate my lips leaving them very soft and smooth.
I haven’t used my tin of Too Faced Bunny Balm under or over any other lip product so can’t comment on how well that may or may not work out. I’ve found this product to last longer than pretty much every other lip balm I own which is a very good thing with how my lips have been.
I’m quite pleased with my purchase but there are two things – three if you count how this so called tinted lip balm is clear on me – that make a touch less than perfect. For starters the pear scent… I would have liked it, honestly, I would. But it smells very fake and plastic like. Almost as if it’s been sitting around on the shelf for awhile. That very well may be the case, but since no place locally sells Too Faced products, I wouldn’t know. Then, there’s how this product is in a tin. That means you have to use your finger or a lip brush to apply. Now, I don’t really mind all that much, but I do generally prefer using lip balms that come in tubes so as to keep the mess off my finger, etc.
In short I’m glad I made my purchase of Too Faced’s Bunny Balm in pear and the cons aren’t enough to keep me from wanting to try out both the Berry (plum colored) and Pineapple (clear) scents/shades… oh, heck… ok, yes, I’d like to try out the Grapefruit (natural pink) too. Go ahead and try this baby out if you’ve got the $11 to spend and enjoy lightly fruity scented (allegedly tinted) glossy lip balms that come in adorable little tins. Too Faced Bunny Balm is quite nice!
