It's an acne cleanser!!!

Pros: clears pimples, cheap, pleasant smell,
Cons: extra drying, does not work well on makeup
The Bottom Line: It's cheap enough to try. Just be sure that if you do, have a good makeup remover, and moisturizer in hand.

ST. IVES SWISS FORMULA PURIFYING FACIAL CLEAR PORE CLEANSER

-WHAT IS IT FOR?
As said on the bottle, "Deep cleans pores to effectively eliminate oil, leaving skin fresh, clear and healthy. Won't clog pores. Natural. Powerful. Proven." Also, all St. Ives Swiss Formula products are NOT tested on animals!
-HOW DO I USE IT?
"Wet face. Pump into hands and work into lather. Massage face gently. Rinse thoroughly." I wet my hands and face. I pump once and lather between my hands into a light, clear lather before massaging onto my face. I also do rinse several times because it feels like it leaves a thin residue on my face.
-WHERE DO I FIND IT?
You can find it at almost any drug store. My WalMart didn't have it but I found it in the KMart facial. Look for a light minty green colored bottle with a blue pump about 6" tall. Also, look for them at their website www.stives.com.
-WHAT'S IN IT?
The product advertises it's tea tree extract for skin clarity, chamomile for soothing, and primrose for moisturizing. The product is 100% soap-free, and alcohol-free. The first ten ingredients read: Water, Sodium laureth sulfate, Decyl polyglucose, Cocamidopropyl betaine, Salicylic acid, Peg-120 methyl glucose dioleate, Glycerine, Polyquaternium-7, Isostearmidopropyl morpholine lactate, Lavandula Hybrida Extract.
-WHAT CAN THE PRODUCT DESCRIBE ITSELF AS?
It has a light herbal smell. The product is a light green transparent gel that lathers up into a light, transparent lather.
-HOW LONG WILL THE PRODUCT LAST?
I pump the formula one time per use (one full pump is just the right amount for your face and neck). I estimate (if this product is used 2 or 3 times daily) that the 10 oz bottle would last approximately 2 months.
-DID IT WORK?
Positives- My skin has a noticeable difference. It zaps away smaller pimples. It has a harder time with cystic acne. I didn't notice any difference with black heads. The rating on epinion was satisfying enough for me to try it. Even more when I found out it was about $4. When I bought it, I wondered why it was under the acne section of epinion. There in the ingredients, I found the word salicylic acid. The product does not advertise itself as an acne facial cleanser although salicylic acid used to fight acne. I wish it did because since I was 16, I've been buying nothing but products that claim to fight pimples, and none worked as well as this.
Negatives- It dried out my skin quickly (maybe they should add more primrose). Be sure to put moisturizer right after washing. Also, this product is no good for washing off makeup. Use a makeup remover beforehand. I believe that the drying ingredient is salicylic acid so I think that they should put in the directions to use once daily and then increase to 2 to 3 times daily. Decrease usage to once every other day if extra dryness occurs.
Verdict- I found that the product lives up to it's claims to eliminate oil, and leave skin fresh. My skin is still not clear but it hasn't been this clear in a while. And as for healthy? Part of healthy skin is a moisturized one so it needs a lot of help on that part. Again, be sure to use moisturizer right after using the product! When rinsing, it feels as if it leaves a bit of film so I don't think it rinses off very clean. It feels like you have to keep rinsing over and over again.
HOW DID I RATE IT?
I rated this product 4 stars. It works very well on pimples. I couldn't give it 5 stars because it is very drying to my skin, it does not wash off makeup, and it did nothing on my clogged pores. All cystic acne is stubborn so until I find something that blasts those suckers away, that will be a true 5 star product.
