| melissasrn's Full Review: St. Ives Coenzyme Q10 Eye Cream |
I suppose that I should consider myself lucky that the only areas of my face that are beginning to show their age is the delicate skin around my eyes. A few of those small wrinkles have been forming for awhile now so moisturizing this area to prevent new ones from forming is a very important step in my skin care regime. So when I recently ran out of my Olay Total Effects Intensive Restoration Treatment, I decided to try this St. Ives Coenzyme Q10 Eye Cream instead as I've been using several other skin care products from this company with good results. Advertised as a Wrinkle Corrector Eye Cream that is designed to be applied to crow's feet and squint lines, this moderately priced eye cream can easily give more expensive department store choices a run for their money. Read on to find out more about this economical drugstore choice.
~~~The Eye Cream~~~
According to product advertising, this St. Ives Coenzyme Q10 Eye Cream is a new innovation in anti-wrinkle eye creams. It's clinically proven formula combines Coenzyme Q10 with Swiss Botanicals and Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes. This is a revolutionary formula that combines Swiss botanicals with the natural activity of Coenzyme Q10. Clinical tests prove that the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles are reduced by 42% in just 4 weeks! Fragrance-Free. Opthamologist Tested. Used alone or under your favorite moisturizer, this concentrated, creamy white formula absorbs quickly and leaves no white film behind. Make-up goes on smoothly over this eye cream, which does not cake together like some other brands I've tried in the past. Featuring an Advanced Botanical Formula which includes Coenzyme Q10 (a cell energizer--skin's natural antioxidant), Primrose (an antioxidant and moisturizer), and Elderflower (a moisturizer), this St. Ives Coenzyme Q10 Eye Cream easily reduces the appearance of small wrinkles under the eyes over time.
~~~Packaging, Price, & Availability~~~
Each 0.5 ounce (14 g) small plastic tube of this St. Ives Coenzyme Q10 Eye Cream may be purchased at most drug and discount stores, as well as online at www.drugstore.com for around $8.99. Featuring a dark blue twist off lid and the St. Ives logo on the front, this little container contains some powerful stuff! It comes packaged inside a larger cardboard box, which contains the product advertising and the directions for use. The wrinkle corrector itself is creamy white in color and is thick in consistency yet very simple to apply with the gentle pressure of one's fingertips. While many similar products contain a full 1 ounce (at a higher price, of course!) instead of just 1/2 an ounce as this St. Ives Coenzyme Q10 Eye Cream does, I like the fact that this smaller size allows consumers to try it out at a lower price to reduce waste just in case it doesn't work for every skin type.
~~~My Experience~~~
As stated in the directions for use: Smooth a small amount of this St. Ives Coenzyme Q10 Eye Cream into the skin around your eyes, focusing on crow's feet and squint lines. After cleansing my face morning and evening, I like to apply a thin layer of this refreshing eye cream to my dry, delicate, wrinkle prone eye area for an instant dose of protecting moisture. Why use Coenzyme Q10? The product suggests: As we age, the level of Coenzyme Q10 in our skin begins to diminish, and visible signs of aging appear in the form of wrinkles. Coenzyme Q10 is safe, even for sensitive skin, because it's found naturally in your own skin. As a long term contact lens wearer, I've experienced no irritation when using this wrinkle corrector. Once it quickly absorbs, I'll sometimes apply another moisturizer over this one for even more anti-aging coverage, especially at night during sleep. All it takes is a pea sized amount of this St. Ives Coenzyme Q10 Eye Cream to adequately cover the skin under my eyes. So even though I've only been using this product around a month or so, there's still plenty left in the tube to last awhile longer.
~~~Overall Recommendation~~~
If high priced department store wrinkle creams are way out of your modest Beauty budget, then give this St. Ives Coenzyme Q10 Eye Cream a try instead as I have a feeling you might be pleasantly surprised at the results. For around $9, you'll be purchasing an effective moisturizing wrinkle corrector at a fraction of the cost. So pamper your skin today as the delicate skin around the eyes is usually the first area of the face to begin showing it's age. And if you plan to delay the aging process as long as possible, then products like this one make the fight much easier---both for the skin as well as the pocketbook! So in conclusion, I highly recommend this St. Ives Coenzyme Q10 Eye Cream to help reduce to appearance of fine lines under the eyes. Good luck and stay beautiful :-)
