Pros: Size, reception, audio quality are EXCELLENT. Sure is blue!
Cons: It won't turn heads if that's what you care about. Sure is blue!
The Bottom Line: An excellent value if you use your mobile telephone for communicating with others. Less impressive if you must be entertained by ringtones and such.
gcs5x's Full Review: Sony Ericsson T226 Cell Phone
If you care about games, IM'ing your friends, or listening to Top 10 hits as ringtones, get another phone. If you care about having a TINY mobile with EXCELLENT reception and audio, you can't go wrong with this little guy. (Of course, all of this is pendent upon the quality of mobile service in your particular area. Mine is Cingular and it's excellent throughout the Southeast U.S.) My only complaint is the potential build quality-- it's all plastic, whereas there's at least some metal construction on the more high-end Sony Ericssons; thus, I wouldn't subject it to a drop-test. But if you're just going from pocket to ear to bedside table, it should be fine.
Also makes a great global phone if you find someone who can unlock it so it will accept worldwide carriers' SIM cards. Its size would make it ideal to throw in your backpack or briefcase the next time you head abroad and would still like the security and convenience of having your own mobile phone without paying through the nose for a rental phone or international call charges from your home carrier. There are MANY sources on the internet for unlocking this phone.
Again, if you use your mobile to entertain yourself or show off, you'll be disappointed with this unit. If you use your mobile to keep in touch with the world and don't want to be burdened by a weighty phone or the added depth of a flip-phone, there's little to complain about in this diminutive unit.
