| Milo_Tzyh's Full Review: Sent Sovi |
We had an excellent dinner for two at Saratoga's Sent Sovi on a recent Friday evening. After a short drive from Palo Alto, we found Sent Sovi on a charming street lined with restaurants and small shops. While the space is not particularly impressive, Sent Sovi has an airy feel, in spite of its small size, and is simply and tastefully appointed.
Our meal was very impressive and among the best we've had in the Bay Area. For starters, the salmon/oyster tartare and crab avocado salad were delightful and presented in a pleasing manner. The proportions, while on the smaller side, worked to tease and jump start the appetite. We both opted for fish dishes for the main course, one a halibut entree and the other stripped bass. We found the fish to be very fresh and tasting fabulous with their accompaniment. Our desert, a mixed berry tart, completed a very satisfactory meal. Sent Sovi also has a tasting menu available.
Sent Sovi is definitely worth price and the longer drive to Saratoga, even from San Francisco or the East Bay. Though the restaurant was full and busy when we went, we were able to get our reservation less than a week in advance. The dress was business casual. The crowd was comprised primarily of couple and a few local families. Parking was quite easy to find (no valet service), and the service was impeccable.
