| jo.com's Full Review: Sally Hansen Thin Lip Collagen Boost |
I am not an impulse shopper. That is until I passed Sally Hansens Thin Lip Collagen Boost. I figured a little plumpness would be nice.
I paid under $6.00 for this .3 ounce pink tube. You may see it and read 1 ounce. That is incorrect.
We are told that well get fuller lips and that my lips would appear smoother and younger looking. In addition there are ingredients in it that would help me with these problems.
I have been using Collagen Boost for a couple of months now. The little gold top unscrews to show what looks like the top of some lip balm products. There is a little hole however the product comes out quickly. It is easy to find too much on my lips than I want. I now put it on my finger and rub it into my lips rather than putting it right on my lips just in case too much comes out.
This is a white, sticky lotion. It doesnt have an offensive scent. It borders on pleasant. I have tasted it because it is hard to never get my tongue on my lips. I dont find it awful. I must share with you that my husband hates it. He has kissed me not knowing I have it on and consistency says, Yuck, what do you have on? I think this is due to a combination of the taste and the slight stickiness of the Collagen Boost.
It doesn't absorb immediately especially if there is a bit too much on my lips. I have found myself more than once having to wipe it off with a tissue.
I have had no adverse affects using it.
My lips feel smooth and moisturized but there is no sunscreen in it so it wont replace lip balm with sunscreen.
It has kept my lips free of being chafed so far this season but it is just starting to get cold here in Massachusetts.
My lips dont look younger; they just feel nice. Sally Hansens Lip Boost has done nothing to plump my lips whatsoever. It doesnt even do so for a couple of minutes.
The ingredients are: Water, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Glycerin, Ethylene/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Beeswax, Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Laurylmethicone Copolyol, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Chloride, Hydrogenated Coco-Glycerides, Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate, Dimethiconol Behenate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Butyrospermum Parkii Shea Butter, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Tribehenin , Sorbitan Isostearate, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Camellia Sinensis Extract Green Tea, Soluble Collagen, Vitis Vinifera Seed Oil Grape, Glycine Soja Oil Soybean, Prunus Armeniaca Kernel Oil Apricot, Aluminum Stearate, Propylene Glycol, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Flavor, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Retinyl Palmitate.
Collagen, which is way down on the list of products, is the ingredient that is supposed to increase my lip volume and plump them up.
Soybean oil, which is even farther down the list, is supposed to make my lips look healthy.
I would never buy this again nor will I recommend it. Ill spend $1.99 on lip balm with sunscreen and save my money for collagen injections. Actually I tried that in my lips and it was a disaster think Goldie Hawn in First Wives Club - so be careful if you go that route.
