Pros: Soft and portable
Cons: NOT MEANT FOR TODDLER BEDS
The Bottom Line: It's a great bed rail, if used with a mattress/box spring combination. Manufacturer doesn't make that completely clear on the box.

| askurnick's Full Review: Safety 1st Portable Bed Rail |
I used this bed rail for my daughter when she transitioned from crib to toddler bed. I thought it was a wonderful product. It was light, portable, no assembly, and she could get in and out of her toddler bed without the need to remove the bed rail.
We started using this product in August 1999. In January 2000, my daughter woke up with her foot swollen, the size of a baseball. Turns out she got her foot wedged in the middle of the night between the bed rail and the mattress. Turned and twisted and managed to break her foot.
After calling the manufacturer, they indicated that this product is not meant to be used with a toddler bed (any bed type that does not have a box spring). My daughter's crib converted to a toddler bed and that's what we were using when I bought this product. The manufacturer was wonderful in responding to the complaint and even refunded my money for the bed rail. I found out when I sent the rail back to them that in very tiny fine print on the front of the box, it was indicated that this product was not intended to be used with a bed without a box spring.
Needless to say - no more bed rails.
