Pros: Well, it does cut grass - but I'm sure you expected that much.
Cons: Can't use it as a weed edger, weedwacker, and AWEFUL customer service!
The Bottom Line: Don't buy it.

| trustmeiknow's Full Review: Poulan/Weed Eater No. Xt112 Electric Twist N Edge ... |
The Poulan WeedEater xt112 is the most useless and dangerous garden tool I've ever bought. Here is why:
Useless customer service: When I called them about the design errors listed below, they could have cared less. They were very curt and eager to get off the phone with me. I asked the lady "does anyone at your company even care for customer feedback on your products?" and she responded, "I guess you could call our engineers" and gave some long distance number. I would have taken it back but the claymont hardware shop does not accept returns.
Useless as a Weed Eater: This is the bump-n-feed type of weed eater and, I can't figure out why, it uses way more line (.65 diam) than other weed wackers I've used that take the same size line. It runs out so quickly that you will find yourself searching, annoyingly, for a hard piece of ground to bump this thing on every 8 - 12 seconds. I'm not exaggerating. That was my average. The shield is so small that copped pieces are twice as likely to fly up and wack you.
Useless as an edger: This does not work! Because it is a bump-n-feed line you have to flip it around, bump it on the ground, and flip it back again. You risk cutting your chord and even your leg every time you do this! Either that or find a vertical surface (like a wall) to bump it on - again, every 8-12 seconds. In order to use this as an edger you have to depress a button and turn the thing around - typical for a combination tool. But the fact that this is electric, and the way the chord is routed, leaves the chord extremely vulnerable to getting chopped on top of it all.
Dangerous: As mentioned above, it throws chips, rocks, and debris all over the place. My brother was weed wacking too close to the house and it chucked a pebble at a front window with enough force to break it.
summary: Don't buy it new, don't buy it at an auction, don't buy it on sale. If you do buy it, don't pay more than $5 for it and you might still feel ripped off.
