I wanted reasonable yet durable food dishes for my dog Shortstuff. There were many choices to choose from (ceramic, stainless steel, plastic, and even designer pet dishes). I chose plastic because of the price and the ease of cleaning. Shortstuff has a bright blue dish for water, and a beige one for her food. Her dishes stay put unless a neighbor dog, wandering, tries to pack off with them. With colorful dishes if that happens they're easily found. And they clean with ease. My Petmate dog dishes have lasted for years.With many washings the colors stay the same as when first purchased. Petmate dishes can be bought at grocery stores, pet stores, or namebrand stores like WalMart,Target,KMart,Fred Meyer, or other similar stores.
