Pros: Kills cough, helps you sleep.
Cons: Bad taste, taking too much will make you woozy.
The Bottom Line: All tussin (dextromathorphin) products work. Try CVS Tussin for an equivalent but cheaper product.

Sure, Pertussin and Robitussin work to beat your cough and let you sleep. But CVS makes a generic version called "CVS Tussin" which works even better and costs half the price.
CVS Tussin contains the same active ingredient as the name brands, Dextromathorphin. It comes in the same liquid form, requires the same dosage, and (unfortunately) has the same taste. But it works better! And it costs less!
Any of these dextromathorphin products will supress your cough and let you sleep, I've been happy with the results from every one.
One word of warning: Be careful about taking too much. An excessive dose can cause bad dreams, make you woozy or speedy, and make it difficult to wake up in the morning.
So take my advice, try the CVS Tussin version. I recommend any of the tussin products, but this way you can save some money and get better results.
