| dbhoutx's Full Review: Pampers Baby-Dry With Quick Grip Diapers |
Our baby Victoria prefers her Pampers over other newborn diapers. She is more comfortable and has yet to leak from these diapers. Even the other day when I fed her some breast milk by bottle (my wife had expressed earlier) and Victoria was putting out more and more as she drank up her milk, the diapers did not leak. That is not to say they do any good if Victoria decided to orally evacuate the milk she just drank. Yuk!
Features I Like
SO how did good ole dad decide these are the best for his sweet baby? With some practice putting on these and a couple other brands, the first thing I learned to like was the easy to attach tabs. They stick well on to the plastic strip on the front of the diaper. That is also a signal that the diaper is on the correct way.
The second feature I like is the super absorbent structure of this diaper. I am not a scientist so I will not try to explain why it is so absorbent, just that even when Victoria let it flow from both ends we have yet to have a leak and changing was not too bad since it was all absorbed into the diaper. (Just changed one a moment ago!) The latest diaper change produced the heaviest of all diapers I have had the honor of changing! No leaks.
The third feature I like or really Victoria likes, is the elastic bands on the outside of the absorbent zone. These help hold in the poop when it is generated. Never have I had to clean any up that made it past the band. Of course if you tuck the diaper and are not careful that elastic band can not do its job as well. Ask my wife she did that once or twice.
Overall these seem to do a great job. We are about at the stage where we will move up to the next level where we begin to use larger diapers. I hope the same design features hold up on the increased size.
Price
So far we have not had to buy too many on our own dime. Several nice co-workers helped supply us with a good start of newborn and size 1 diapers. When I did make a purchase yesterday I found that I could get 40 newborn size for under $9 at a local store and for about a buck more on the internet. The next size was a bit more expensive. I purchased a jumbo and a mega pack for about $12 and about $15 each respectively. Not too bad when I could also use some coupons to reduce the price even more.
So while they are not the cheapest, they are not too terribly expensive. Just shop around and watch the news paper for coupons.
Sam's Club seems to have a variety of diapers and wipes. I plan to get wipes there since I can get the huggies wipes I like for the least amount of money at Sam's. They did not have Pampers in the location I shopped yesterday morning.
Closing Comments
While my baby really likes these Pampers as well as her mom and dad (me), I suggest getting a few first to make sure that they work for your baby before buying a huge stock like I now have in the nursery. I will swear by these Pampers until they let me down at which time I will evaluate what brand works best for my baby at that time.
