Ok - let me start by saying you can all pick your jaws up off the floor. Yes, she is back. Yes, Dannyzmom has FINALLY motivated herself to write a new review after, how long has it been? Quite a few years. Now please, bear with me - it has been a while, I am rusty...I am not even sure anymore how to use the HTML coding...so this won't be as pretty as my older reviews. Please, rate gently and if you must criticize, be kind - I am sensitive, you know. Now - to get down to business...
I have been a HUGE fan of The Pampered Chef for years now - look at some of my older reviews and you'll see. But this Quik Stir Pitcher? Well, it never interested me until I earned one for free. And now I see - wow, I should have gotten one of these babies years ago. Do you know how much easier it would have been mixing my sons' formula when they were infants?
You see - this pitcher has a plunger inside that effortlessly mixes up powdered drinks, mixed drinks, you name it.
This tall, round pitcher has a 2 quart capacity and is clear plastic with a frosted checker-board design etched into it. It measures 9.5" high with the handle extending another 2" high and 6" in diameter. It has measurements embossed on the outside in liters and quarts making it easier to add the correct amounts of liquids for mixed drinks. The plunger has little flaps so the liquid will flow through in both directions, thoroughly mixing your drinks every time you pump the handle. It retails for $12.50 plus tax and shipping and can be purchased though any Pampered Chef consultant or earned for FREE if you host a Pampered Chef party. It also has a lever on the lid that you can switch from "open" to "closed" to "strain" to keep the ice in as you pour.
Now, maybe 2-quarts is not enough for your household - well, you're in luck! The Pampered Chef also has a One Gallon Quik Stir Pitcher for $15.50 with all the same features!
While it is made of plastic and that is a good thing - just be careful. If you have it filled with bright red Crystal Light and you drop it on your tiles kitchen floor, it WILL shatter and you WILL have bright pink stains on your white cabinets. Maybe next week I will write a review on the product that got those stains out. Good thing it has a one year warranty!
As with all Pampered Chef products, it comes with a Recipe and Use & Care card...so you will know how to care for your new pitcher and you will have yummy recipes to try with it. One of the recipes that comes with this Quik Stir Pitcher is Sparkling Sangria:
Ingredients:
1 bottle (25.4 ounces) non-alcoholic red wine, chilled
1/4 cup sugar
1 orange
1 lemon
1 lime
2 cups lemon-lime flavored carbonated soda, chilled
Directions:
Open wine bottle using Wine Bottle Opener. Pour wine into Quick-StirŪ Pitcher; add sugar. Plunge until well mixed.
Slice fruit with Utility Knife; add to wine mixture. Refrigerate 3-4 hours to allow flavors to blend.
Add carbonated soda; plunge to mix. Serve immediately.

For me, I like to use it for ice water and just float some paper-thin slices of lemon in the water...
The bottom line is this - whether your have kids, no kids, infants - whatever...every household needs a Quik Stir Pitcher!
