I am not one who uses make-up products religiously. However when I do, I want to make an impact on those around me. Therefore when I look for products, I keep this in mind.
Why I chose this product over all the others!
Origins has a variety of lip products. Those used for colors are the following: Matte Stick, Sheer Stick,Shimmer Stick, Lip Color, Lip Pencil, Lip Gloss, and Bite Your Lips. I like to have variety when I go to choose new products.
The new style for fall in clothes show a very sleek and sexy femme fatale look. This is why we will see so much leather this season. So, I choose the lip gloss over all the other products to give me this specific look.
Why I both love and hate this gloss!
I love the ingredients they used for the gloss. Two of these are the cocoa butter and beeswax. The cocoa butter is extremely moisturizing as well is the beeswax. And I know what you are thinking, beeswax, yuck, this product must be extremely cakey and heavy feeling. It’s not. It does feel very light and smooth throughout the entire time you have it on your lips.
I hate the attention to detail that comes with this product. You must look in the mirror to make sure you covered the entire lips and that it is not darker in one area over the others. At the initial time I used this product I had chapped lips. The gloss seemed to be attracted to those specific areas making them look much darker. For those of us on the go, this is a hindrance.
I choose the color Retrogrape (looks almost black in the tube). The color when on is a dark purplish-red tone. Definitely more of an evening look than day. You generally need to apply it twice throughout an eight-hour period. This color sets a very sexy mood with an all black outfit.
Who should purchase it?
I would say anyone going to parties or for a night out with the girls. The lighter colors are more for the day, but would seem unprofessional in a work environment. However, these would be great stocking stuffers for the holidays if you have teens.
