Cons: none that we have found.
The Bottom Line: It is good to buy a dog food that my puppy will like and will grow up with! Ol Roy is just that!

When rattlesnakes bit my Luna and we had to put her down it was a very hard time in our lives. She was a beautiful black Lab and very protective of her family. We truly miss her a lot. However, life does go on and after some time we got another puppy. This one, also a black Lab, but male. Barnabus is his name.
Certainly we went right out and bought some things for Barnabus, including his puppy food. With money tight at the time we went with the store brand. And being at Wal Mart the store brand was Ol Roy™. Luna ate the food the four years we had her so I know its good food for my dog. In fact, I didn’t hesitate in buying it.
The Product
Ol Roy™ Dog Food Puppy Formula has an optimum level of Calcium and Phosphorus that support the growth of strong bones and teeth with a balanced nutrition for puppies for up to two years. The flavor we buy is beef in a 20 lb bag for around 6.00 at our local Wal Mart.
Ol Roy™ puppy formula is formulated to meet the needs of my puppy while he develops in his first year. That is a good thing! Ol Roy™ is made with a special beef protein, rice and other wholesome ingredients. Helps his coat to be shiny and his muscles and bones to grow as they should. Puppies, like newborn babies, have their own special needs for the first two years of life and I feel really good about giving Barnabus his Ol Roy™ puppy food. He sure seems to like it!
And of course Barnabus was nervous about being in his new home and Ol Roy™ puppy food helped him keep a good digestive system while he settled down and continues to give him a good digestive system, which is great for all of us.
Feeding
Depending on your breed of dog will depend on how long they eat puppy food. For instance, since Barnabus will grow to be a big dog he will only need puppy food for up to 18 months. However, smaller dogs will need puppy food for the 2 full years.
We feed Barnabus an amount of food that allows his needs to be meet while he grows and plays and grows and plays. You can serve you dog this food dry or wet. To make it wet you should add one cup of warm water to every two cups of food. Barnabus eats his dry because the food is very tiny in shape and is easy for him to chew. And, he has wonderful, sharp teeth!
You will find a chart on the side of the package that will guide you properly on feeding your puppy. Barnabus is now 7 months old and he eats around 4 to 5 cups a day. He is a growing boy!
The package is blue and has the Ol Roy® logo on the front. The blue is actually a baby blue color. You will also find a date on the lower back of the package that will tell you how long the dog food is good for.

Ground yellow corn, meat and bone meal, corn gluten meal, soybean meal, animal fat (preserved with BHA and citric acid), chicken by product meal, animal digest (source of beef flavor), brewers rice, salt, caramel color calcium carbonate, potassium chloride, chlorine chloride, zinc sulfate, ferrous sulfate, zinc oxide, vitamin E supplement, niacin, copper sulfate, manganous oxide, vitamin A supplement, calcium pantothenate, biotin, vitamin B12 supplement, pyridoxine hydrochloride, thiamine monontrate, menadione sodium bisulfate complex (source of vitamin K activity), calcium iodate, vitamin D3 supplement, riboflavin supplement, cobalt carbonate, folic acid and sodium selenite.

How I Feel
I like being able to give my puppy a nutritional food that makes him happy. He loves this food so much that he will go and lay down beside the bag when he is hungry to let me know that it’s time already to me him. He is so funny too. He jumps up and down in the prancing jump when he hears the scoop going into the bag. Funny how he learned that sound right away!
Barnabus has been a happy puppy while he has been here and I know that our choice of food for him has helped him to be happy. His coat is really shiny and he digests the food well. He moves the bowels often and they are clean and that is very good. I am very proud of my “other child” for a child he acts like.
If you are in the market for a good, cheap, nutritional and helps to build the bones and teeth then you should try Ol Roy™ puppy food.
