You're good but not great and I won't settle for less than great. Sorry.

Product Rating:
Pros: Lightweight, leaves eye area silky and smooth feeling, concentrated
Cons: Expensive, doesn't reduce wrinkles nor brighten the eye area as it claims
The Bottom Line: This is a good lightweight day cream but don't expect miracles. Your lines and circles won't magically disappear after using this product.
PattyTherre's Full Review: Murad Eye Treatment Complex SPF 8 1 0.5 oz /5 ml
My ongoing search for a good anti aging eye cream is endless. I love to try new eye creams but always end up back where I started with Lancome's Progres Eye Cream.
However I want the anti aging benefits of the newer creams combined with the ultra moisturizing of the Progres cream so my search continues. Murad Eye Treatment Complex SPF 8 is a decent product and left my eyes smooth and feeling cared for but didnt live up to its hype of reducing wrinkles and brightening up the eye area and reducing dark circles.
About Murad
Murad skincare was developed by Dr. Howard Murad, a board certified dermatologist, trained pharmacist, and Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at UCLA. For this reason alone, the products should be better than the average cosmetic company offerings and many of Murads products are.
The Official Word
This is from www.murad.com:
Eye Treatment Complex SPF 8 for all skin types
Reveal smoother skin. This patented formula contains glycolic acid and our patented Advanced Performance Complex to gently exfoliate, encouraging cell renewal and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Provitamin B5 repairs and protects to recapture a more youthful look.
The Container
This cream comes in a small pump tube with a plastic top. It is only one-half of an ounce and costs in the area of $52.00. The pump top allows you to pump just a tiny bit of the cream as you dont need much to cover your eye area.
My Experience
I was told Murad products were excellent and was prompted to try this eye cream by a friend who swears by Murad skincare. I was hesitant to spend $52 for such a tiny amount of product (although I am willing shell that much out for Progres but I know what the results are. With this, I has no idea whether it would be worth the money.). I did cave in and get it, however, because I cant resist trying new things.
The pump top allowed me to pump a small amount onto my fingertip. The cream is white and the consistency is that of a lotion rather than a cream. It isnt thick like I am used to using. I used one pump for each eye, applying under and around each eye and on the brow bone.
The directions told me to use the product daily after cleansing and toning. I took this to mean it is not a night cream so I used this product during the day and my own night cream at night.
The skin around my eyes felt silky when I used this lotion and concealer slid on nicely. It was not greasy and immediately evaporated into my skin. I like creams that are heavier and that give my eye area a huge dose of moisture but this product worked well during the day when I was applying make up. Nothing smeared or was diluted like what can happen when using a thicker, more dense cream.
The product packaging says that glycolic acid exfoliates to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, Silica brightens the eye area while reducing shine, and oxysomes, a powerful blend of Vitamins C and E, along with grape seed extract and broad spectrum sunscreens, provide powerful antioxidant protection.
Those are powerful statements and I was most eager to see if they held up with consistent use.
I used Murad Eye Treatment Complex SPF 8 for about three months daily. My eyes didnt burn or sting like they do when I use many other eye creams and that was a big plus. My eye area was silkier and makeup went on smoothly.
BUT
While I thought the cream was nice for daytime use and liked the small amount of SPF in it, I didnt see wrinkle reduction nor eye brightening. My dark circles were still dark and the tiny lines around my eyes were still there. While this was a nice, light daytime eye cream, it was simply too expensive to use when no noticeable changes were happening except that the skin around my eyes felt smoother and softer.
If it were $20, I might have continued using it, but for well over $50 for a tiny vial, I used what I had and moved on to other products.
Ingredients
For those who like to know what is being put on their faces or who have sensitivities to certain ingredients, here is what is in this product:
Yikes!! All that stuff around my eyes? Scary. Sometimes I wonder if the myriad of chemicals we use to keep ourselves from aging are all that healthy. Nonetheless, despite the long list of ingredients, I experienced no ill affects -- no burning, itching, or running eyes like I am prone to with other eye creams.
Buying Info
Murad products can be purchased at www.murad.com. You can also find this cream at online drugstores and beauty supply storefronts. I have seen it on eBay as well.
I have not seen Murad products in department stores but there is a store locater on the Murad website and two professional spa/beauty salons showed up in my area as resellers of the product so there are places offline to purchase the cream.
I got mine right from Murads website.
Conclusion
Murad is a good name. They have a good reputation in the beauty world and their products certainly dont come cheap. While I felt this cream did make the skin around my eyes more supple and soft, I saw no anti aging results after three months of use. Its a fine light daytime cream under make up or alone but it doesnt live up its claims of reducing wrinkles and brightening eyes. It seems most of the products I have tried have come up short. Maybe I am just a lost cause!
For the price, I just dont feel this product is worth it. It has some good active ingredients that could be helpful in treating the appearance of lines but it also had a laundry list of other chemicals, so many that I wonder how safe it is to put the cream around my delicate eye area.
As I said, I didnt have any bad reactions to the cream but, for the money, Ill stick to my Progres and my new dermatologist recommended cream, Revision Teamine Eye Complex, for under eye circles.
You wont be disappointed if you like light creams and want to smooth the skin and prime it for concealer or foundation. You will be disappointed if you think this is youth in a jar. Once again, the hype is just that, at least for me.
I give this three stars. It was OK.
It had its good qualities but, unless they lower the price by at least half, I will not invest in this product again.
Although it did not live up to my expectations, I am recommending it to others because I am a tough case. I want the best results possible and wont settle for less. Others may be very happy with smoother, silkier skin around their eyes and find that this product is well worth the price. I know I am a harsh critic of anti aging products, perhaps too harsh. But, in my opinion, if a product makes a claim, they should be able to back that claim up and Murad was unable to do that for me. You may have better results.
I do suggest that you buy the product where they have a money back guarantee if youre not satisfied so you can buy with confidence and not feel like you wasted the money you spent should this cream not work out well for you.
