Great, comfortable skates at a fair price

Wow! I didn't know I could rate hockey equipment on Epinions! Great! I'm going to be frequenting this place....
I bought this when I broke the chassis off my cheap Bauer hockey skates. I just strolled into Paragon's of NYC and started to look through their selections. I think I had to make up my mind between another Bauer's and this one. The difference was when I put these skates on. Now, you must keep in mind that everyone's feet are made differently, even with same numerical sizes: when I put mine on, it fit like a glove. Bauer's had some pressure points that I wasn't so crazy about. These boots felt great. So great that I paid for them right there, put them on, and skated back home. They felt like as if I have been wearing them for a couple of weeks.
The chassis is the "Hi-Lo" design, which accommodates two 72mm front wheels and two 80mm back wheels, presumably to increase forward momentum. Backward skating is no problem. When I have new wheels on, especially, I can get a good boost out of that design. I had no problems getting accustomed to that. The wheels were pretty soft, I think, indoor wheels. I changed those. The bearings are ABEC 3's. I have changed them to ABEC 5's when they wore out.
These skates are pretty sturdy. I've banged them up in many a league/pick-up games, and they've survived. They protect your feet well from that slapshot or your opponent's over-enthusiastic stick-handling. Only things that I've recently changed were the laces. Other than that, the skates are in fine shape.
As long as they are comfortable on your feet, they should serve you well in your game.
