Pros: Just plain works!!!
Cons: Will keep you up if you take it at bedtime. Midol needs a nighttime formula!

I, like many women out there, suffered from severe dysmenorrhea throughout my menstrual life. I've tried everything. I found that the best thing for bad PMS and cramps is herbal tea. But, an easier fix is Midol Maximum Strength Menstrual Caplets. Regular Midol didn't work for me AT ALL. So when I was doubled over in pain at work one day and a friend passed me Maximum Strength Midol...I was a little reluctant, but again, in a lot of pain so figured what-the-heck.
Boy, what a shocker! Within ten minutes I was feeling about 95% better. I recommend that anyone go ahead and take the maximum dose of 2 capsules. This is not like the regular Midol that you're used to...the bloating was gone, the back pain was gone, and the nagging cramps were gone....not to mention that horrible PMS headache that I sometimes get....Midol Maximum Strength Menstrual zapped it! Another great thing is that I usually get really sleepy and feel wiped out when on my period. Midol has a "cup of coffee's" worth of caffeine in it. Just a little pick-me-up for those that get run down. The relief that I get from this product last the entire dosage time of about 4-6 hours. At bedtime I switch to Tylenol PM due to the caffeine in Midol.
OK~now for the kicker...it works on husbands too! Anytime my hubby gets a bad headache, which coincidentally is usually right around the same time as my period, he takes my Midol Maximum Strength Menstrual. It really works! I assume that this is because the main ingredient is Acetaminophen.
Side effects? I haven't had any. I'm allergic to aspirin and will sometimes have a reaction to acetaminophen...with Midol I don't. The only possible side effect that I see is the instant high you get from the caffeine. Interactions? Like another epinions member suggested...stay away from caffeinated things such as soda and chocolate.
I have found that Midol Maximum Strength Menstrual works better than Tylenol, Midol Regular Strength, Midol Teen Formula, and Motrin for PMS, Menstrual cramps, and everyday headaches. Midol Maximum Strength Menstrual is a must have for anyone's medicine cabinet! Not only do I get better relief from it but it also works faster, for a longer period of time and for a variety of other ailments (such as migraines and body aches and pains not associated with PMS). I will definitely continue to purchase it.
