| pilarzmom's Full Review: Method Creamy Hand Wash, Olive Leaf, 10 fl oz |
We go through a lot of hand wash in our house, so I'm always on the lookout for specials. However, sometimes I can't resist trying a little bit nicer stuff, preferably creamier hand washes, for my own bathroom. The latest to hit my radar screen was Method's new Creamy Hand Wash in a funky cube-shaped dispenser. I picked up some in the Olive Leaf scent on a recent trip to Target and have been enjoying this latest member to the Method family.
Product Details
Method soaps are always a favorite with me not just because they wash well and come in fun containers, but because their soaps are NOT anti-bacterial. While such anti-bacterial soaps have their place in medical facilities and for people with certain health conditions, most of us folks really don't need them. I grew up without them and I managed just fine, without getting too terribly sick. So why start now? That's why I buy Method whenever I can.
This particular Creamy Hand Wash comes in a cube that measures 3 inches high x 3 inches wide and has a pump dispenser. The 10 ounce bottle is embossed with cross-hatch pattern that looks a tic-tac-toe square. It is also available in Almond Flower and White Tea scents.
The hand wash itself is creamy white with the consistency of lotion. It looks nourishing and indeed it is--Method has added jojoba oil and Vitamin E to make this hand wash moisturizing. If that's not enticing enough, its scent is also very soothing. While not what I would call an olive scent, it does have a somewhat sweet, earthy scent that is very appealing.
Method is also another one of the earth-friendly companies that I like. They don't test on animals and all their bottles are coded for recycling.
Method Creamy Hand Wash is priced at $4.99 at my local Target. That's a little bit more than I like to pay for hand wash for my kids, but for myself I don't mind paying a little bit extra, especially if it's creamy and moisturizing.
Usage
One pump from the container of the Creamy Hand Wash is all you need to get a nice, soothing lather that cleans and moisturizes at the same time. It feels soft and moisturizing as I wash, and when I rinse it off, that softness and moisture stays with me. The lather itself is gentle, not as much as its non-creamy counterparts, but don't let that fool you. It still cleans very well and gets rid of even the toughest dirt and odors (like garlic and onions).
It's really amazing not to feel the need to put hand lotion or hand creme on after using this. Some so-called creamy hand washes really don't do a decent job of moisturizing, but Method is certainly not one of them. As I don't need my hands aging any faster than they already are, I'm going to be sure to keep Method Creamy Hand Wash on hand in my household from now on. I may buy cheaper stuff for my boys, but for me, this is a hand wash that I can't afford not to buy! 5 stars!
