I have always had cramps when Aunt Flo comes a callin'! I am not talking run of the mill cramps, I am talking knock me down, don't go anywhere, my guts are having a fist fight cramps. I used to be a fan of Midol, but Midol has caffeine in it. I shouldn't say it does now, but back in the 80's when I was really suffering Midol had caffeine. I cannot handle caffeine of any sort. I get the jitters and cannot sleep or concentrate. I was desperate to find an OTC medication that would ease my cramps and not have me shaking in my shoes.
Pamprin Maximum Strength Multi Symptom has been a God send for me. I take 2 caplets and within 20 minutes I feel total relief. I prefer the caplets, but Pamprin is also available in tablets and gelcaps. The strength I get is 500 mg, but it is also available in 250 mg for those who do not get the severe cramps and other menstrual symptoms. The relief last from 4-6 hours and there are no side effects except for occasional drowsiness.
Pamprin not only relieves the pain of cramps, it is also a great OTC medication for relieving bloating and tension. Bloating you say? I think I gain 5 pounds each month even with Pamprin, but at least when I take Pamprin I do not feel as full and bloated and my jeans do not have to be pried onto my body! Tension is a whole other story. I think all women suffer some sort of tension when they get their period and especially before they get their period(PMS). Pamprin has not taken the tension away totally, only menopause will hopefully do that, but I do not jump down my hubbys throat quite so often...that is a good thing. My kids do not call Grandma and ask to spend the night either...another good thing.
Pamprin Multi Symptom is just that...Multi Symptom. It doesn't just ease your cramps, but makes you feel better all over!
