Pros: Lightweight for a big barrel bat. Cool green color.
Cons: Expensive.
The Bottom Line: Two thumbs up! A great bat for advanced kids 8-12 years old whose league allows 2 3/4" big barrel bats.

| internetguru's Full Review: Louisville Slugger TPX GEN1X Senior League Basebal... |
The 29"/20.5oz model is the bat I purchased for 9 year old son. It comes in a 28"/19.5oz, 29"/20.5oz, 30"/21.5oz, 31"/22.5oz & 32"/23.5oz. This bat has the same thin 7/8" handle most Louisville Slugger bats have, great for small hands. If you prefer a thicker bat handle you are probably looking for an Easton bat. The large barrel makes the ball travel further than its little league small barrel counterpart. The primary reason for this bats popularity is the 2.75" barrel as opposed to a 2.25" barrel that is used in little league.
To help make this bat last longer we avoid hitting those solid yellow dimpled pitching machine balls. Also I recommend you avoid letting other players use your bat as the pop in the bat seems to disappear with excessive use. Its almost like the aluminum fatigues and create what I like to call dead aluminum bat syndrome.
Remember to check your rule books before buying as some leagues do not allow big barrel bats.
Swing at the strikes and watch the balls go by or none of these hi tech bats will do you any good at all.
