Pros: Clean, relatively quiet, up in the NE section of Tucson
Cons: Minimal staff, uncaring, and poor service
The Bottom Line: If you can get a great deal on the place, then perhaps it won't be a total mess. Just hope you don't have to have any service.

| doesntfmatter's Full Review: La Quinta Inn Tucson East |
We stayed here at the Tucson East La Quinta because it's in the NE section of Tucson, which is close to our friends and several outdoor parks (Sabino Canyon for hiking and Fantasy Island/park for single-track mountain biking). It's on Broadway, about seven miles east of 10. There's a Denny's right there, but we never used it since the hotel provides a descent enough continental breakfast.
We stayed for two nights. It was quiet and clean. But here's the kicker: the Jacuzzi was ice cold. This was in January, when it's pretty chilly outside (well, for Tucson). After a day of outdoor activity we all looked forward to a good soak in the hot tub. Boy, was it a sorry surprise to go out to a bubbling Jacuzzi only to find it colder than the pool itself!
We called the front desk and they said they'd have it fixed by morning. Morning came and it looked the same, so after the free breakfast we again inquired at the front desk as to the stasis on the repairs. The guy just looked at us blankly. Obviously, nobody had reported anything. Again, we were told it would be fixed that day, and off we went on another excursion, only to return that evening to find all was the same. So, come the next morning I complained to the front desk when I checked out, and was completely ignored. The guy didn't apologize or anything! When I asked to see a manager I was told he wasn't there. And when I asked for his business card the guy said they didn't have any. Well, so much for good service.
