Recently, I published a positive review recommending the traditionally attractive yet moderately priced Evenflo Jenny Lind Crib we have owned for almost two years now. Of course the crib mattress we have was purchased separately as a baby shower gift, and it has provided durable sleeping comfort for our child from the newborn period all the way through his toddlerhood. Other than a few problems we encountered that I will discuss in the body of this review, we have been satisfied overall with the performance we've received from our Kolcraft Sealy Baby Posturepedic crib mattress. New parents again after almost 8 years, we were basically starting all over again, so this very thoughtful gift came in quite handy as we had long ago purged our home of all the baby furniture we had owned after our first two babies outgrew it all. At the time, we were sure we were through having babies, but sometimes nature has other ideas.

~~~Our Experience~~~
Using and maintaining our Kolcraft Sealy Baby Posturepedic crib mattress over the past two years has been a simple yet sometimes frustrating process. To protect the outer mattress cover from damage due to moisture or physical trauma from the very beginning, we first placed a standard plastic mattress cover over the entire mattress surface before fitting it with a mattress pad and a cute crib sheet. A large piece of cardboard placed on the bottom metal section of our crib has been used to further protect this mattress from damage. Our son has been sleeping safely and soundly on this durably firm sleeping surface from about 3 months of age until the present with only a few complaints. First of all, the mattress is quite heavy, which requires quite an effort to change those crib sheets on a regular basis. And secondly, much to our dismay, two of the long innerspring coils have actually dangerously worked their way out of one short side of this mattress, which means we have actually had to physically cut them off quite frequently to protect our baby from potential harm. Hopefully this defect is an isolated incident as our Kolcraft Sealy Baby Posturepedic has provided long lasting comfort and support otherwise and could easily be safely used for another baby if necessary or transferred to a toddler bed when our son is ready to take that next step.
