About a year ago we decided that it was getting about time to get a new mattress and box spring for our bedroom. The current model was a good model Sealy but we had it for 20 years and it was starting to show the signs of wear and tear. We had purchased it when we were first married and the salesman had told us that it would last a lifetime. It didn't last that long (thank God) but it did serve well for 20 years and I feel we did get our monies worth from it.
Shopping for a Replacement
In our area of the country, there are several chains of stores dedicated to only beds and bedding. They sell all the good makes and models and have some very good sales and inducements, including same day delivery and money back guarantee. One of the first we looked at was the King Koil Posture Bond Chiro-Tech Mattress and box spring. I had been having some problems with my lower back and the Chiropractor, I was going to, had stressed that a firm mattress would help my lower back pain. At this point he didn't suggest a make or model but he said make sure it's firm and the King Koil Posture Bond Chiro-Tech Mattress was very firm.
It is probably the firmest mattress that I have ever been on. I got on right in the store showroom and lay down. They even had a pillow with a cover so you could get a real test drive. My first impression was that it was so firm that I could never sleep on it but after a few minutes it started to conform to my weight and shape and I started to feel real comfortable. The salesman said that it was the design of the coils that allowed the mattress to conform to my shape independently from my wife's side. I'm quite a bit heavier than she is and I noticed that she wasn't being pulled downhill towards me. My weight didn't effect her side of the mattress. She really liked that!
It's a Sale
Due in part to the store's money back guarantee we decided to give it a try. We're really glad we did. From the first night it was set up, we've slept better than we've ever slept before. When I told the Chiropractor that we had purchased this model he said that it was a good choice and that he would have recommended it if I had asked him. We've had the King Koil Posture Bond Chiro-Tech Mattress for a year now and are very pleased.
Well Build
The mattress is very well built and the stitching is all well done and not a bit loose. In many places it's even double stitched. The box spring is solid and made with great care. I don't know the number of coils or the spacing between them but I do know that it's comfortable and sturdy. There are mattresses you can purchase at discount stores but you get what you pay for. Your sleep is important and spending a few extra dollars for a good night's rest is well worth it.
The next time you're in the market for a mattress, I recommend going to a speciality store. You get the widest variety to choose from and you also have the expert help available to answer your questions. Make sure that when they deliver your new mattress that they will take away the old mattress. Some land fills will make you pay to get rid of it. After looking at the other models then buy a King Koil Posture Bond Chiro-Tech Mattress and you'll never spend another sleepless night regretting your purchase. The salesman said it would last a lifetime. (I hope he's wrong too).
