Pros: Easy to use, simple to clean, variety of coffee/tea/hot chocolate choices.
Cons: Won't serve a large group well.
The Bottom Line: For a home or office coffee maker that makes a great cup, with many choices of coffee/tea/hot chocolate and is easy to use and clean, this is a winner!
brotherdave's Full Review: Keurig Special Edition B60 Coffee Maker
I had previously had a few different types of coffee makers in my office. A small traditional coffee machine by Cuisinart and a Phillips Pod Brewer among others.
Although they made decent coffee, they were difficult to clean up, and there wasn't much variety in the choices of coffee you could make with them.
Then, I visited a bank near me that had a Keurig B60 in the lobby. It smelled like a Parisian cafe! People were making cup after cup of whatever they wanted -- Breakfast Blend? Coming right up! Vanilla Decaf? Done in under a minute. And it didn't just make coffee -- they had tea and hot chocolate, too.
After making each cup, the user just tossed the K-Cup in the trash. No one cleaned a thing.
I had to have one, and I bought one the next day.
What I love about the Keurig is how EASY it is to use. I turn it on and in a minute or two it's ready to use. I put a K-Cup in its holder, and as soon as you press the start button, it begins the brewing process.
I also like the fact that you can adjust the temperature of the water. I've never owned a coffee maker that had that feature.
Additionally, I like the fact that there's nothing to clean. Other than occasionally rinsing the water reservoir and cleaning the parts that come in contact with the K-Cup (I do that about once a month) it is maintenance-free.
Finally, unlike pod coffee makers, there are a nice variety of companies that make K-Cups, and that inlcudes roasts of all types (mild to bold) and teas and hot chocolates.
I don't "hate" anything about this product. The weakness is that it can only make one cup at a time, but that's true of all single-cup brewers, and even if you have a few people over, it only takes slightly longer to make a cup than it does to actually pour a cup of coffee.
Another slight downside is that if more than one person is going to use this, you will find yourself filling the water reservoir more often, but that's true of any coffee maker, unlike you have a coffee vending machine in your office.
Overall, I've been thrilled with the Keurig K-Cup, and I highly recommend it.
