Pros: Creates definition for curly, permed or sleek hair styles. Also creates soft, well conditioned look.
Cons: Not for very short hair with choppy, textured layers.
The Bottom Line: Not for ALL styles. Ideal for curly, permed, or long layered hair. There are better and cheaper products on market.

| lavenderfruit's Full Review: Kenra Artform Pomade |
Unlike the picture above, Kenra Artform Pomade actually comes in a 2 oz. (56g) tub. It is water based and claims to provide "flexible definition and texture to any style" (direct quote from product). My stylist used to apply it to my hair to define the long straight layers I used to have, but I now have very short, cropped, very textured hair cut and the pomade can't create the definition or emphasize the texture I have with my cut. In addition, it won't hold my hair in place even with abundant application.
My mother on the other hand loves this product. She has very curly permed hair that falls just below her shoulders. The pomade creates a moisturized look to the hair and provides definition to her curls.
The key to using this product is to use few bits at a time. The pomade easily emulsifies in your hand and depending on the type of style and cut you have, you can scrunch your hair (for curly, permed hair), lift from the roots and run fingers through hair (for straight hair with layers etc), or take bits of layers and rub it between your fingers (also for hair with layers). There are other method of application, and it may take some practice till you can get the product to the area that you want.
Based on my experience, I would suggest this product to those with the following:
- curly, permed hair
- straight long layered hair
- those who want added shine (the product claims to add shine and it does)
For those with choppy, textured, heavily layered short hair, I would give this product a miss. It has a weak hold and lacks the power to define the cut.
As for fragrance, it smells a bit like perming solution. It also has a sunscreen protection added (no SPF factor indicated).
Aside from the fact that it is not for ALL styles of hair, the only drawback would be that your hands may feel very tight and dry when you wash out the product.
