| 1truluv's Full Review: Johnsons Baby Powder Pure Cornstarch |
When my son was a baby, and money was tight, I usually took the advice of my mother, when it came to taking care of my new-born son. One of the many things she taught me was that, sometimes, the old-fashioned way, was still the best way. She told me that her mother had advised her to use pure cornstarch for diaper rash. I tried it and it worked!
Now that I have a grandson, I found that the old stand-by was still the best way. As times change, so do the products that we buy. There are all kinds of diaper rash creams on the market. Our grandsons' mother has tried all kinds of creams and ointments, when little Logan has had a diaper rash. He usually doesn't have much of a problem with diaper rash, except for times like now, when he has a cold. The medication for his cold, gives him diarrhea.
It seems that the creams, and ointments, keep his little bottom damp. So, when I brought him home with me yesterday, his mother sent a big container of Johnson's baby powder with Aloe, and Vitamin E, and pure Cornstarch. She was so amazed that it worked so well! You have to remember to put the powder into your hand, instead of just shaking it onto the baby's bottom. They can inhale the dust from the powder, into their lungs, making their cold worse.
The active ingredients in Johnson's baby powder are:
*TOPICAL STARCH (CORNSTARCH)
ALSO CONTAINS:
* TRICALCIUM PHOSPHATE
*ALOE BARBADENIS
*TOCOPHERYL ACETATE (Vitamin E)
*FRAGRANCE
This product is very soothing to baby's bottom, however, I have heard that in baby girls', it may cause yeast infections. I would highly recommend the use of this powder for baby's with diaper rash problems.
