We purchase IAMS products for our pets. Specifically for this review, the dry cat food. While this brand may LOOK more expensive at first glance, it really is not. IAMS servings need not be as large as with some of the cheaper brands. Ingredients in the IAMS brand cat food are also of a higher quality.
When you feed your cat IAMS, I have found that my diarreah prone cats produce a firmer and less smelly feces. This is a bonus because stinky litter boxes are of course, not a welcome proposition! We have also found that our cats hove bowel movements less often and in smaller amounts. This is from the higher quality food/ingredients. There is less waste for the cat to out put.
I have found that IAMS is quite pungent when you open the bag. It is not a welcome smell to me in the morning, but my cats come running from the other room as soon as I get the bag out. They seem to adore the meaty scent!
IAMS is a dry food, but it is not hard and brittle, but rather has a crunchy texture that has been ok even for our older cat that we adopted from the Humane Society with bad teeth and gums. At the same time it gives the crunch that our younger cats need for healthy teeth and gums!
IAMS does cost more, but dollar for dollar, a little goes a long way and the food lasts longer, which evens out the cost. Give it a week and you will begin to notice a difference in even a healthy cat!
