| staciaclark's Full Review: Dana Carpender - How I Gave Up My Low-Fat Diet and... |
By the time I read this book, I had already read many others. So my head was spinning round and round with all the info. But when I picked this book up, I knew immediately it was different. Not only was Dana not selling any vitamins or peripherals, she was easy to read and understand. She had been where I was and could give a more objective view that those touting their own diet.
In this book, Dana Carpender outlines all the major low carb diets. She explores each thoroughly, with her own experience as her guide as to what worked for her and what didn't. Each diet is outlined with how it works, the key points that are stressed, and the pros and cons.
This book made the decision which diet (lifestyle) to choose very easy and I felt that I was making an informed choice.
She give tons of useful and encouraging information. There are even websites listed in the back of the book that I have found to be invaluable.
The writing style is easy to read and very user friendly. By the end, I felt she was a trusted friend. I have loaned this book out and made sure it came back quickly. I reread sections when necessary and feel it a major resource for low carbers.
