| ImAmes's Full Review: Graco Neat Seat Reclining Adjustable |
Time has passed so quickly, and I almost cried thinking that my sweet little Emily was all ready for a big high chair. So far we had been feeding her in her soft seat, but she has learned to sit up on her own now, and those days are now long gone. ::sigh::
I will be honest, I didn't do any research on High Chairs the morning before I was going to go and purchase one. I came across this one while looking and knew that this was what I was looking for-the Graco Neat Seat High Chair was everything and more!
What Does It Do?
This was my first question I asked myself, as I am VERY picky on what baby furniture I use- I mean, we are talking about this innocent little child trusting in us for the best quality for them to use right? Right! So I read the box over, top to bottom, which is also in Spanish and French! They had a model there to look at as well, which is SO IMPORTANT when buying ANY baby furniture- NEVER rely on just the picture on a box! Also make sure that instructions were included, as there is assembly required with this high chair and you will need the tools as listed in there.
**The Seat reclines- a plus in my book, where my daughter has JUST started to sit up on her own, and may still be a bit wobbly, so she can be reclined if she feels uncomfortable sitting straight up! It reclines 3 ways, one is all the way back like an infant's car seat, the next a bit farther up, and the last being straight up. To recline the seat is simple, all you have to do move both handles, located on either side of the seat that are marked RECLINING SEAT 1-2-3 and move them until they are locked in to your desired reclining position. It takes a bit of practice at first, but you get used to it!
**The High Chair has five adjustable heights- this is so great for when you want to hang out in the living room, and you can adjust it to level 5, bringing her at eye level with you while you are sitting on the floor. As I have said, there are 5 levels, one being the highest and five being the lowest. This is also a plus for when their are different table heights in each home, so you can custom fit your high chair to your table's height. To adjust the height to any of the five levels, place both of your feet firmly on the base of the High Chair, so it doesn't move, and then gently pick up the BACK of the SEAT and move the grooves into place until they are in the location you want.
Again, it will take time and practice to get used to, but it is a great asset for parents to use!
What Does the High Chair Look Like?
I am glad you asked, because this was another feature that I loved about this High Chair! Here is why:
**The Seat: The Seat is a navy blue with patches of plaid and teddy bears wearing green and blue outfits. The Seat is also large and roomy, curved in at both ends to keep baby safe and secure. The vinyl covering assures me that when Emily makes a mess, that it can be wiped off and still look brand new! It comes with a strong seat belt to strap those squirmy babies in, and can be adjusted to fit all little baby tummies! It comes with a foot rest that is quite durable and long, so that baby can use this for many months to come as they grow into it.
**The Tray: Now, most High Chairs of long ago, had the tray as almost the safety net for the baby. You know what I am talking about, where you strap them in and then the tray goes on for extra protection from falling out onto the floor. NOT with this Graco Neat Seat! Oh, this has a great tray, but what I loved was what was under the tray- connected to the seat are PERMANENT leg holes and bar, so that if the tray isn't on, they are still kept in quite well and not just dangling. It is connected to the leg rest, and serves as the base of the tray to latch into. The tray is pure white and is quite large, with a built in cup holder and little tray for snacks and such. It is also adjustable, and with one hand, the front blue button on the tray can be pushed and you can move it forwards or back until you have it how you want. This has been the easiest to learn and use so far! The tray also has a small wall around it, so food won't slip off easily off the tray, and can be used as a resistance to toys falling off as well!
**The Legs: The legs of the Graco Neat Seat are quite sturdy and do not sway or move in any way that would be unsafe or disturbing. The legs connect into a rather large white base which is spread out so that it is remains stable and secure.
**Handle: There is a handle on the back of the high chair for moving from one room to another, and should always be used with care, so that the seat does not become unadjusted in the process.
What Did It Cost?
My Graco Neat Seat High Chair cost me $44.99 on sale at my local Shopko Store here in Wisconsin. I felt it was a great buy and worth every penny!
My Conclusion?
I LOVE my Graco Neat Seat, it has everything in a High Chair I could want or ask for. I feel it will live up to it's test of time, and that my Grandkids will be using it as well! It's a great buy, so why not try one out today?
