If only life had a way to erase mistakes as well as the Magic Rub Eraser does pencil marks!
Description
This smooth matte gray-white eraser measures 2 1/4" long x 1" wide x 3/8" deep. The words "Magic Rub" are written in black on the top of the eraser. These erasers are made from latex-free vinyl.
My Experiences
I use this eraser at work, and it now resembles an oval more than a rectangle from repeated use that has worn the edges into rounded corners. This is the first eraser I reach for when I need to eradicate a mistake. It does a great job!
The eraser is easy to hold. It has a rubberized feel and the fingers easily stay in place while gripping the eraser. When using the eraser, it sheds small curled eraser shavings as it works. These shavings are easy to wipe away with the hand.
Pencil marks disappear like magic. Even when using heavy pressure, the eraser is great at removing the pencilled writing. For those who write with light or medium pressure, the marks practically disappear into invisibility. Heavier marks still vanish, but a slight trace of the writing may remain on the paper.
Ink on paper does not erase as well. If the pen writing is immediately erased using the Magic Rub eraser, then some of the marks will come off the page. But this not my ideal pen eraser. Pen marks will not disappear. However, I use a laminated desk at work and sometimes my pen slips, which causes me to write on the desk. This eraser has eliminated all pen marks on my desk whether it is red, blue or black ink.
This is a gentle eraser, too. It has never torn any paper while erasing, nor does it rough up the paper. The paper remains as smooth as it was before using the eraser. I primarily use the eraser on 20-pound white paper (such as copy paper) and yellow Post-it notes. The eraser is gentle enough so that it does not change the yellow color of the Post-it note paper.
When erasing pen from paper (or trying to erase pen from paper), the ink smears on the eraser. However, when erasing pencil, the eraser does not pick up graphite and the eraser retains a clean appearance.
This is a great office eraser. Not only does it fit neatly into a desk drawer or organizer, but when I move around the office, this eraser is easy to tuck into a pocket for travel. When carrying stacks of paper, the Magic Rub eraser perches atop the stack without slipping. The rubberized material of this eraser stays in place. I have even used it as a block on angled surfaces to stop pens from rolling away.
I like the way the eraser is soft in the hand and easy to use. During my eight-plus years of using these erasers, I have never had one become hard from age. Magic Rub always erases upon demand.
Purchasing
Our office buys the Magic Rub erasers from Staples for $6.29 a 12-pack. OfficeMax sells a 3-pack of these erasers for $1.59. Office Depot also sells them in a 12-pack for $6.72.
Summary
It's nice having a bit of magic in my desk drawer. The Magic Rub Eraser is an excellent eraser that does a terrific job of eliminating all pencil marks from paper and even removes ink and pencil marks from my laminated desk. Since this eraser works better than any other pencil eraser I have tried, I intend to keep on using it!
